Given what Ledger said about how the eyes will be really important, just look at this pic from A Clockwork Orange:

The intensity in those eyes would be perfect for the Joker!

I was just picturing in my head what the first picture that they hypothetically "released" for marketing and how in order to keep the joker as a mystery and a suprize how they could release a close up of his eyes or smile. Or a gloved hand holding a card but with some of his wrist was exposed and we can see the pasty pale white skin.

Yeah those would all be cool, although I would like them to keep it a mystery for as long as possible (perhaps until the final movie trailer is released?).

Why even CALL Him The Joker if its "all about the eyes, not the laugh" crap?

Not saying I want him to be a clownshoes ala Silver Age, but come on! His name IS The Joker :joker:

okay, I know this manip sucks, but I made it 2 years ago and didn´t know how to use photoshop back then.

I just thought this thread would be perfect for this

Forget all of you. This is how intense the Joker's eyes should look.

"A man with a changeless mask like face..but for the eyes. Burning, hate filled eyes!"-Batman #1

I've always viewed Malcom Mc Dowell's Alex as the cinematic prototype for the Joker. At least,IMO, how the Joker should be portrayed.

I remember back when the Batman (1989) was being cast, and rumours that Willem Dafoe and Ray Liotta were up for the Mister J.I could see them playing the role in a Mcdowell type way.

The biggest miscasting of that film was the Joker.Even more so than Keaton as Batman.

:woot: :oldrazz:

But seriously, we almost had Dafoe? Man, that would've awesome...

*headdesk*

Look at the quote properly - He says it'd be *less* about the laugh. Not that he wouldn't laugh. Not that he wouldn't smile. Just that it wouldn't be the most defining thing like, say, Jack's cackling was in '89. As much as I like Joker in that film, I want something different.

^i liked jack as joker :(...anyways,spider-fan,where did you get that pic?

Dafoe would have been excellent. Just a couple of years after Platoon, just off Mississippi Burning - man, he was hotter than hell.
Love the gif!

Jack Nicholson was GREAT as Joker and I hope, no, I think, Heath Ledger will also do a great job. But we'll see after the release if he can compete with Jack Nicholson.

I think it's funny how there's some sort of war between Burton and Nolan fans. I love both takes on the Dark Knight, I can't really decide which one is better between the films directed by Tim Burton and Christopher Nolan. Same with Keaton and Bale.

found it doing a google image search (i think keyword "creepy eyes")
it was in someones, my.opera.com photo gallery

How anyone could even think Keaton is in the same league as Bale is beyond me. Keaton is a joke, and could never be the "real" Batman.

Yikes! What's with the Keaton bashing today? He was damn good, IMO.
