Judge Dredd Reboot!! - Part 2

Bought it on blu-ray yesterday (just 2D, I'm an old-fashioned bastard).

I'm really pleasantly surprised. It's just...it's just tight. No filler, no compromises, it's just solid as hell. I watched it 2 times in a row. That doesn't happen very often. Gotta love Karl Urbans frown, it's just right when he does it. I love this. And I didn't even read the comics that much.

I'm not at all surprised that it already has a cult status.

I watched Dredd today on Netflix to support the Dredd sequel day today, even though I had just watched it last week I really hope this makes a difference and helps get the sequel greenlit.

^^ Since you can see a womans breast in that thumbnail you might wanna consider just posting the link.

I really hope I get to see this guy and the other Dark Judges on the big screen some day.

^Great stuff, seeing the Dark Judges in the big screen would be amazing, so hope it happens.

According to the online chatter, the only continuation of the film will be a comic storyline. :-(

What's the point of that though? It's kinda redundant in my opinion as if I want to read Dredd in comicbook form I'll just, y'know, buy 2000AD or a Megazine or something.

It's a damned shame that we're only doing to see Urban's Dredd the one time but I really have zero interest in reading about movie Dredd's exploits in a comic.

Ditto.

An animated film with Urban providing voice acting might be an acceptable compromise.

Its too bad about Dredd not getting a sequel. I don't know too much about the character in the comics, but I really enjoyed the movie. It was very entertaining and Urban did a great job. With all the stupid movies that get sequels, I wish something cool like Dredd could manage one.

Yeah I agree with you BB, no point reading a comic that continues the movie story when there are loads of Judge Dredd comics out there already.

Would be so awesome to see one day.

^^^Making me sad with that picture; the prospect that we wont get to see that awesomeness on screen is just all too damn real. :(

I'd watch that in a heartbeat, although what happened to the mooted ABC Warriors cartoon? Seems all we got was a mini trailer and then nothing - is it dead in the water?

At least with an animated Dredd we wouldnt have to worry about Mega City One not being showed in its full glory due to budget constraints.

I know, they are amazing character which would simply be amazing to see on the big screen. Who knows, it may happen one day, after the way the X-Men movies have been going I never thought I would see Apocalypse in a CBM and yet in 2016 I will, so we will see. Though Dredd obviously wasnt as successful as any X-Men movie.

I would so much like to see this as well :csad:

^That would be awesome too, so much of the Dredd world would be amazing to see on the big screen, extending that would love to see a Rogue Trooper movie some day as well.

Last we heard Sam Worthington's production company bought the rights to it and were developing a movie, there has literally been NOTHING since.

Yeah, but as someones posted on here before, maybe Worthington's stroke has weigned since Avatar and he cant get the production off the ground.

It's frustrating. Apart from Dredd, the rest of the 2000AD world and its characters are just begging to be adapted cinematically and it actually seems a bit strange that no-one is willing to actually do it. I mean, filmakers have been borrowing from AD for years so you'd think that one of them would have the balls to go and make a 2000AD movie proper.

Continuation in comic form doesn't interest me but I'd be all over an animated movie voice by Urban and Thirlby.

True, maybe after the Avatar sequels Worthington will be able to get something going again with a RT movie. And yeah, so much of 2000AD is ripe for the movies I cant believe more film-makers havent tried to adapt them.

d'oh, completely forgot about worthingtons involvement in the avatar sequels. Heres hoping.
