Kevin Feige: New movie announcement between IM and Hulk

Have the Captain America movie be entirely in the 1940s. End the movie with him getting blown into the North Atlantic by the bomb on the plane or missile. Have the Avengers movie start with him getting discovered/thawed out. Simple

Except then people who go to see Avengers but haven't seen Captain America will be totally lost.

personally i dont think antman should be a summer flick.. it should be a small low budget flick about antman and wasp and a really early version of ultron. with a possible role of lang as well maybe as an assistant? anywho... i'd put it at a date near the end of the year like punisher is doing..

well there not going to reintroduce everyone... so if they don't see the other movies there gonna be kinda lost anyway

Well then they should probably watch Captain America first, shouldn't they? It's no different then expecting someone to watch an original movie before they see its sequel.

Kevin Feige seems to be very excited about Ant-Man. I think this is the film that's ready to go (Edgar's turned in an "awesome" draft according to Fiege).

well i definately have faith in marvel studios... i just wonder what the movie would be about... i mean its an adventure comedy... and i heard it would have both pym and lang (it's gotta have wasp too though), and other then the birth of ultron im not really sure...

Agree fully. Market Iron Man, Captain America (WW2) and (tales of asgard) Thor as 1, 2 and 3 of "The Marvel Saga", and "Avengers Assemble" is the Finale. Then it's your own fault if you didn't watch the buildup.

Cap before Thor is to create a delay between Cap being frozen (his movie) and being found (Avengers), mimicking how long he's been frozen (out of sight, out of mind).

Then 'Avengers Assemble' comes about by the discovery of C.A. and the (re)arrival of Thor. Honestly, characters like Ant-Man and the others don't need an origin movie (imo). I.M, C.A. and Thor are the main guys here...

Imagine the explosion of Tony's reactor into the sky opens a portal to Asgard and Thor comes to investigate. Or releases an Asgardian enemy, and Thor comes to earth initially furious with Tony (tie in with their current comics too).

You could even start the Thor film by the last clip of Pepper hitting the button and the explosion, with the new footage following the explosion up until we see it reflected on Thor's Helmet - Then cue the intro - *shivers in anticipation!!!*
...

Good, no? It's just...... Why does RDJ have to age, and why are there no 6 ft 6" blonde handsome Mr. Universes who can act and sound like Patrick Stewart!!!

Article has me worried... no 09 movie? What has the comic book movie world come to? 2010 is going to be too jam packed for Marvel to do another two independent big budget films. They HAVE to get Thor out by August 09. Ant-Man is just icing on the cake IMO. Unfortunately... unless things pick up like now... its not going to happen. Damn shame really. And yeah Captain America will never see the light of day as a stand alone for the very reason we knew all along. As long as Thor and Ant-Man are out before Avengers then its all good though.

Holiday 09 is an ok timeslot too for Thor.

Being Thor of the Norse Myth there'd be snow and ice in one of the settings. Just in time for holiday season. Ant Man is really forgettable, when you have Captain America & Iron Man 2 in the lineup.

One more time guys... Marvel is contractually obligated to release these films in the summer... no exceptions will be made to that any time soon. Wolverine might really be all we get at this point. Guess we'd better become Transformers, G.I Joe, and Dragonball fans to kill the time.

never

Captain America deserves his own movie pre-Avengers, which chronicles his origins in WWII and his acclimatization to the modern world, thus setting him up for an Avengers movie without requiring most of the film be dedicated to telling his story (or else giving him the short shrift).

Its gonna be Antman or Thor as Captain America doesn't have a script or Director attached yet.

Nick Cassavates is attached to helm Captain America, but Marvel is having a hard time with overseas sales, so I don't see Cap being the next film.

Honestly, I expect the next movie to be Iron Man 2.

Iron Man 2 is a given. Honestly, among the 3 Iron Man is the most likely find better success because it deals with sci-fi tech & weaponries - staple for action movies.

But after seeing Iron Man, I need something else because my Shellhead fix is satiated. Something more epic (Thor) or dramatic (Captain America).

I'm so GLAD someone sees this besides me! Antman doesn't have to be a $100 million movie! This movie can be made with a $50 million budget and earn a profit. Anything more than that and you are looking at a loss. This movie doesn't have the appeal of any of Marvel's top tier character. Even though he's an Avenger's founder, he's c-list at best. I'd rather Vision have his own movie than Pym.

I don't know what the next one will be but am looking forward to the announcement.

But those who bash Ant-Man must think of this:
Edgar Wright has made multiple strong cult comedies
The script is apparently rather good.
It doesn't need as big of a budget.
And on the no-one has ever heard of Ant-Man, no-one had heard of Blade either, and look at the money he made.

Are you sure he's still attached? Or was he ever attached?

Never understood what Captain America was all about, but it looks disgustingly patriotic. That costume would only work faithfully if it's set in the 40's and had a Watchmen-like approach.
I guess I just don't see a very high level of entertainment value in this one. It really just sounds like a less than exciting character.

But he may be more relevant than THOR, but that's another story. I'm rooting for THOR.

Ant Man could be great fun, but not necessarily relevant either. I definitely dont see it as Honey, I shrunk the kids, but more a quirky, twisted (hey, it's Edgar Wright) intense sci-fi comedy that combines retro story-telling ala The Incredibly Shrinking Man and The Twilight Zone with more contemporary shocks and realism. This movie in the hands of Wright could actually be both really scary and super hilarious.
Hell, I'll root for this one too...
