Kevin Smith Confronts Joel Siegel

It was cool of Siegal to do that but, the thing is, he didn't even know it was Kevin that we was talking with until about 5 minutes into the coversation. I'm not sure he would have went on there if he know he'd go head to head w/ the man.

If my Aunt had a penis she would be my Uncle...if, if, if...the point is that Siegel took it all very well.

I think Smith smelled an opportunity to not only ream out a critic (which most directors despise, anyway) but to stir up a little controversy over his film, which might pull some people in to see it who might not otherwise.

that sounds about right.

Siegel didn't handle it very well at all, IMHO. He acted unprofessionally at the screening and when called on it, he defended his behavior. He knew how he acted had been wrong and all he did was defend what he did. He acted like a jackass at the screening by all accounts and that's not even in dispute as far as I'm concerned. If had took the criticism on the call well at all he would have just said "Yeah, that was out of line. Sorry."

do you think Smith's going to use Siegel's quote of "Kevin Smith is a superb filmaker?" or something like that?

Only if it's in pun format like Siegel likes to headline his reviews.

"Do you know what day it is, Joel?". LOFL!

Sounds like? He is.
kinda reminds me

you know why we eat chicken eggs? not because they are the most delicious, but because hens are the only ones that actually whine and cackle about them the most

similar situation with Mr. Smith

I never heard that....good stuff

The more that I think about this, the more Kevin Smith is a joke.

"Um, excuse me Sir but your behavior was unprofessional. You acted just like a character from one of my movies who forces their opinion down the throat of anyone within listening distance. I say Sir, I take great umbridge that you would conduct yourself like me or one of my beloved characters who feels the need to have themselves heard even when the time is not appropriate. I would appreciate it if you would stop conducting yourself like you were Randal or myself or one of my fans"

Kevin Smith is a clown.

Isnt calling out a critic like the most unprofessional thing you can do when youre a movie director?

It's not if he got up in the middle of your movie at a critic premier type thing and yelled ****.

I dont have speakers hooked up any transcripts?

simply Kevin Smith repeating this in line over andf over again "You acted very unprofessional"

Better to be whiny like Kevin Smith rather than being an unprofessional jackass like Joel Siegel.

Besides, don't parents instill in their children to shut the **** up during movies? At least mine did

'hey everybody, im walkin' out. look at my mustache!' heheh, oh kevin...

Siegel is a *****e for doing that, but Smith still sounds like a whiny *****.

Anyhow, has anyone heard the Kevin Smith commentary on the new Road House DVD? (BTW, Road House is classic)

I am curious because it is a great movie to watch with some friends and do commentary.

 He sounds like a whiny *****. He doesnt care about him not acting professional, he only care because the guy walked out on his movie. Seriously, the day people take lessons about professionalism from Kevin Smith is the day I honestly will weep for this world.

Dude, did you actually listen to the entire clip? He DOESN'T CARE that Siegel walked out of his movie. What he cares about is that Siegel drew attention to himself, caused a scene, and disrupted the audience in the screening when he walked out.

If you walk out of a movie, you don't compete with the movie. You just shut the **** up and leave quietly.

That's what Smith was saying and Siegel couldn't understand that

Yes, I got that. I already said it was a docuhe move by Joel Siegel, doesnt change the fact that to me ME Kevin Smith still sounds like he's whining.
