Kick Ass 2 announcement coming soon - Part 1

^Again I didnt see any major difference, some things had to be different as the characters had progressed, but again its something I credit Wadlow with is that he kept the same tone from the 1st movie.

i hope they make a 3rd movie just to finish the story

^Same here, I would hate it if we were just left with KA2 as the ending, even though I liked the movie.

Hopefully Vaughan can get someone to finance, or hopefully it will do great numbers on DVD/BD.

Happy to admit I liked this one quite a bit more than I expected. Great performances all around, Jim Carrey in particular was very entertaining. Was surprised they killed Dave's dad, I didn't think they'd go there.

Anyway I really liked it and I hope they go ahead with a third one. I read where Mark Millar said it was in the works but... Mark Millar.

Also, holy ****

^She was hot as hell in the costume, that stomach, wow. BTW when did Miller say a their was in the works? Before or after the release of KA2?

Despite writer Mark Millar stating that things are "up in the air" as far as a third Kick-Ass movie goes, one of the stars of the previous 2 instalments definitely seems to be erring towards the negative side of things when it comes to the film ever getting made. "Sadly, I think I'm done with the character," Chloë Grace Moretz tells Digital Spy. "Hit-Girl was a very cool character, but I don't think there will be any more movies." The actress blames movie piracy contributing to disappointing box office numbers as the main reason why we likely won't see a Kick-Ass 3. "Kick-Ass 2 was one of the number one pirated movies of the year, but that doesn't help us because we need box office figures. We need to prove to the distributors that we can make money from a third and a fourth movie - but because it didn't do so well, we can't make another one." But this doesn't mean we'll never see Moretz suit up as a superhero again -- on the contrary; it seems she's actively looking at comic books and novels for potential roles in the future. "I try to keep abreast on what's out there and what's being made," she tells the site. "We're getting a lot of source material from books and comics right now, so it's a great place to look."

Well this really sucks to hear :(

P.S. I hope this was the right thread for this, couldn't find much Kick-Ass.

At least it's nice to know Chloe is looking for roles in comic book movies, maybe Marvel will have something with her in mind.

I'm sure she'll snag a Marvel role, but she's be a greta Kara iMO. Actually there are a number of superheroes she could play. Glad to see she's keeping her eye out for something in the genre.

I would have seen a Kick-Ass 3, but at the same time I did feel a bit of closure with the second one.

I am a huge, huge fan of the first Kick-Ass movie. I watched it recently, and it still completely holds up, in my opinion. It's a fun flick that mocks and celebrates superheroes. I love the movie a lot more than the comic book, actually.

As for the second movie, I wouldn't call it a "good" movie, per se. I would call it enjoyable, with some hit or miss jokes, and with some missed opportunities (Jim Carrey's and John Leguizamo's limited screen times, for instance). There was plenty of closure at the end of Kick-Ass 2, though. I don't see the need for a third one, really.

Kick Ass 2 bombing hard at the box office was the best thing that could have happened. People have to stop supporting hacks like Mark Millar and the garbage books he puts out. By far the worst comic writer of the past decade.

I would have loved to see a KA3, surprised how much I enjoyed the sequel and still think the 1st movie is one of the best CBM's there is.

Kick Ass was a novelty in the first movie, but that wasnt going to continue to carry over. It wasnt that special. Jim Carey was good in t he second one.

The truth is that Mark Millaars shock entertainment style is crap and people get tired of it quick. They hit a note with the original Kick Ass but beyond then, nah Im good.

I disagree with people who say the story had no where to go, the 2nd movie came up with a pretty good story for me, it just needed to be a bit longer. Some of the deleted scenes should have been kept in.

Yep. They also needed Vaughn back, badly. It's overall a good movie, and I enjoy it, just not nearly enough as I should've. Things I would've done :

Extend the film, seriously. I think it's an 1h40 min or so. This could've easily been a two hour film.

Film & keep the Big Daddy cameo

Film more of J4evr helping, solving crimes

Dive a little more into RM turning evil (but not how Millar did.)

Don't have Katie turn out to be a ***** over a stupid misunderstanding of things. Sure, show her getting worried / upset over Dave STILL continuing Kick-Ass, but what they did in the film was ****.

Somehow get Todd 1 to come back. Todd 2 sucked ass. Speaking of....

Don't have one of Dave's ****ing friends spill the beans about his father in an obviously EVIL organization

As a callback to the film, you could have MF'er trace his IP address.

Just a few things I would've done.

^Cant argue with any of those, all good suggestions, I did like the sequel, but it needed to be longer and do a few things differently.

^You never know is all I will say, never thought movies like Hellboy and Pacific Rim would get a sequel yet they did/are. I really do hope they get to finish the trilogy.
