Yes that is Colossus. Though he does look both young and short (a topic for another day), you have to remember that he is only about 5 years older than Kitty. So if she's probably in the 18 to 20 age range then he's only in the 23 to 25 range.

You need to look at the previous panels. Remember Peter is around 6'6" and Kitty is like 5'6". And though he is lifting her, he's not lifting her nearly high enough.

I think we can let that slide. After all, when was the last time someone drew Wolverine at his proper height? I haven't been paying attention, but does Cassaday draw Kitty shorter than Logan, like most artists do (despite her having 3 inches on him)?

Well, Carey is a good writer but the team line-up is going to include Mystique and Sabretooth. Personally I think having them on the team is an odd and potentially bad choice. And Bachalo is going to be drawing it. I can't speak for everybody but I think his art is pretty bad. He used to have an interesting style but now it just looks like a mess.
