And harry, too soon to bring in Destoroyah. They have Rodan, Mothra, and Ghidorah at their disposal to use in a Godzilla sequel.

I know dude, but Godzilla vs Destoroyah is a much more suitable third film in a Godzilla trilogy than GvK. He's arguably his most deadly foe. He's to Godzilla what Bane is to Batman while Ghidorah is his Joker.

Keep in mind that the average movie goer probably hasn't seen or heard of the original King Kong vs Godzilla, so if the Legendary reboot ends up being made, it might draw a lot of attention.

As a fan, I'm sort of unaware of just how deep Godzilla is in the collective consciousness. I am pretty certain there is a deep feeling of them having fought before. There is the urban legend of there being two cuts, one for Japan and one for the US.

So, a one note character from the 90's? And really, Destroyah doesn't work as well in this universe. No Oxygen Destroyer, and he is just another random monster. And Kong is a rematch many have wanted to see for a long, long time. Hell, Toho really wanted to do in the 90s, but Universal said no. Also, highly unlikely the fifth monster they got from Toho is Destroyah.

And really, this won't the first WB used a character from a more successful film to boost an underperforming one.

Man in Skull Island he isn't even as big as he was in the 60s Kong vs Godzilla and even that Kong is barely half the size of the Legendary Godzilla.

Kong in Skull Island is confirmed to be an adolescent, so it's very likely he'll be much bigger in the versus movie.

I went to go look at tickets for early afternoon on opening day at the large format Dolby Atmos theater at my local Alamo, and literally no tickets have been sold for it yet. I REALLY hope this doesn't bomb.

Oh, my bad.....didn't realize you wanted to be serious when discussing laser breathing giant lizards fighting giant mutant gorillas.....so......giant mutant gorilla Kong charges even gianter laser breathing lizard Godzilla, GLBLG hears the noise and looks around but fails to see the GMGK who barely comes up to his knee....GMGK leaps up and locks on to GLBLG's thigh and sinks his teeth into tasty lizard flesh.....GLBLG roars in pain and unleashes a blast of nuclear laser breath at the cause of his pain.....and promply blows his own leg off....GMGK sits back and laughs.....until GLBLG falls on him and crushesth e life out of poor giant mutant gorilla's body.
