Kong: Skull Island - Part 3

I swear that they have the same people working on these trailers that did the Suicide Squad trailers.
Nah, Suicide Squad had great trailers, Skull Island does not. I'm not saying they're bad but they're not as good as Suicide Squad's.

I'm referring to the editing style, particularly the use of the music mixed with the sound effects which is very similar to the way the last two Suicide Squad trailers were done. Personally, I didn't find the SS trailers to be anything special.

You personally don't have to but they were obviously very effective trailers. Your personal opinion doesn't obscure that fact.

I mean I wasn't a big fan of Deadpool's trailers but I can't say just because I wasn't a big fan of them then they weren't effective.

I was hoping for this last trailer we'd get some sort of idea of the story in this movie.
I guess it's just go to island fight Kong, Kong fights monsters?
I'm hoping there is more than they are showing but other than being cool I really have little interest in this movie because of it.

I agree with Darkvengeance; the visual and sound editing of the later Kong trailer is similar to the SS trailers.
I don't see him suggesting the SS trailers were ineffective.

Looks like the European premiere is happening right now. I'm hoping we'll hear a lot of feedback from our UK friends.

Schweet. Just about 7/8 more days before I get to see it.

I assume a barrage of spoilers will come flooding in the next 24 hours.

BAH GAWD! :hrt:

It definitely seems less Apocalypse Now than before. Not that it's necessarily a bad thing, and I'm not against the humor at all, but I did like the tone of the first trailer.

The action and Kong/the monsters all looks great to me. I just don't get these trailers. The music in this one I didn't care for, the tonal shifts. Not sure what they're going for.
If Trailer Park is the one editing these/this trailer that would explain why they annoyingly keep trying to sell this film as a light-hearted, fun cheese fest. They did the same thing to SS until WB actually brought them in to change & edit the movie ()

I don't know if it was mentioned but the embargo drops Thursday

BOZ just posted his spoiler free review on BOT:

Here are my first impressions:

That was a ton of fun. Very enjoyable. Insane visuals. The landscape they used is just amazing. The cinematography is just great as well. The action itself is very easy to follow, and unlike cough cough Godzilla, you actually see the monsters (a lot more than I thought). Really liked the use of color.

How's the pacing? Perfect amount for an action movie. Never had 2 hours fly by so quickly. The fights lets just say escalated as each one happened. Kong himself was marvelous to see on big screen and is never overused or hidden.

Human characters themselves? Hiddleston and Larson was good. Jackson was okay I guess, not really impressed by his character. Reilly was great. The movie has humor and one-liners to sort of relieve the tension after brutal fights.

And yes, stay for post-credits scene. I honestly had no idea there was one till my friend was like "STAY IN YOUR SEAT" to me.
Probably one of my favorite giant monster movies if not the favorite. Highly recommend seeing this if you're a fan of the genre. Certainly an awesome way to kill time. I will definitely see this again as soon as possible.

Will this movie will be more successful than Peter Jackson's King Kong ?

I hope this film is entertaining/good and not a total bore like Godzilla or crap like Pacific Rim.

As someone who likes one of those movies, this movie being at the very least entertaining is pretty much a certainty at this point.

Not gonna lie... I think this will flop. But I also think It's looking to be an entertaining flick that delivers on it's promise of being a big monster SFX extravaganza.

Only enough money for one movie this month and it's going to Logan (tonight :D ). I'll definitely watch this on rental though and MAYBE buy it on bluray when the price drops.

I just don't think they've marketed it enough for ti to be a hit.
I remeber 1st hearing about it during comic-con (3?) years ago as part of the WB panel & people were shocked as no-one was even expecting a Kong film.
Fast forward to now & from what I can see, people aren't fussed about it.
If it does Star Trek numbers - $350m WW, I think that's about as good as it gets for Kong.

Logan may make some decent money, but Beauty and the Beast will be the box office juggernaut this month.
