Superman Returns Legendary on Board Superman Sequel

Or not. There was a lot of talk concerning a Hulk sequel until the dvd came out. Now look where that's at, a new director a new type of movie. Yeah we'll see about singer and company coming back. he's gone after the dvd hits. Sorry...

I think the DVD will be successful. Many people don't watch it in theatre (cinema), but buy the DVD. And if they have an extended version, that would be even better. So I think Bryan will do the sequel :)

i will watch it again on DVD.
no way will i buy it.
not good enough DAMMIT

Ahahahahahahah!!!!!!!!!
Did anyone read this news clip on AICN.

Dan Harris co-wrote a horrendous jean Claude Van Damme movie. IS that the best we can do for a Superman writer.
And some people are not only happy to settle with the tripe that was SR but actually want these clowns making more mockery adaptions of the greatest superhero ever.
Superman deserves better than a Jean Claude Van Damme writer.
Unbelievable.

Also wrote X-Men 2, but suppose you left that part out- of course-

See this is what you and others fail to understand..and I don't want to speak for everyone but I liked SR and the story so I am not settling for anyone...I want to see where they take the story next.

Well I guess that was a fluke! And they even took the time to add lots of touches from the books all the way down to early villains etc.
Superman R on the other hand only squeezes the zipple of Richard Donner. They obviously lost their touch. And now everythings ruined. it's pink slip time because so much moneys been lost and the real fans are not with them.

X-2 had several writers. That includes Zak Penn and David Hayter. All that Harris and Dougherty did was touch it up and put it all together.

^They really need to fire these writers for SR sequel else prepare for another super kid.

Before you state it's not possible, remember this is a Superman who can turn back time by flying around the world.

oh well, at least we're getting a sequel. whatever the hell it is lets just brace ourselves. stopping and waiting for another 10 years is the last thing i wanted to happen anyway.

In a Variety article talking about investors it is mentioned that Legendary is on board for the Superman Returns sequel:

If Legendary is unnerved, it isn't showing. Like Warners, Legendary insists it will turn a profit on "Superman Returns," and has given all indications that it's on deck to co-finance a sequel.

Like Legendary, all the funds argue that they won't be made, or broken, by just one pic. By investing in a slate of pics over the course of several years, they're virtually guaranteed a return of 10%.

I don't think Zak Penn gets an official writing credit for X2, only a story credit. David Hayter does get both though.

I look forward to a Singer directed sequel. I think he will make it amazing. Remember, a lot of people disliked X1, but then LOVED X2 when it came out as everything was ramped up.
