Bryan Cranston? Awesome. The other Olsen sister? I have no idea if that's a good or bad thing.

Elizabeth Olsen and Bryan Cranston?!

Please let it happen.

A very good thing, she has far more acting talent than her sisters combined.

That's a relief. Looks like they really want to make this movie good. Aaron Johnson might be joining as well.

Yeah she was amazing in Martha Marcy May Marlene and Liberal Arts. Also she was pretty good in Silent House and Red Lights.

Ya I heard she was amazing, and she is much hotter too lol. And Bryan what more do I need to say? He's the one who knocks.

Remember Walter White's tantrum in the car wash, and subsequent assault on the air freshener display?

Now get the man in a mo-cap suit. We have our Godzilla.

"Wipe down this!"

hahaha

Heisenberg vs. Godzilla?

Take my bank account, Legendary.

So if SHH is going to report on Godzilla news, why not give us a forum to discuss it in? ;)

Does Godzilla really need its own forum, though? I don't think so, just my opinion.

Cranston? Now you've got my attention.

Yes please! I agree!
Who's in charge of that?

It's a pretty big franchise still with a large fan base and hell even it's own convention. Does it have enough fans on here and will plenty of people discuss it and potentially attract new people here? If the answer is yes then I think so. There seem to be a good amount of Godzilla fans on here.

Especially since this will be the start of a new American Godzilla franchise we will have both an American and Japanese Godzilla franchise now.

Just my 2 cents though

I've heard this claim, but I'd like to see it fleshed out some.

Legendary is primarily a financing partner for WB, which while important, isn't necessarily reflective of the quality of films that WB puts out. And WB is big enough that they can get other financing. What else does Legendary bring to the table?

That Tull is a geek himself and Pacific Rim wouldn't happened if they didn't put out 70% of the money (instead of the usual 50/50).

Exactly. Without Tull, I don't know if a lot of these movies would have made it.

Cranston would be good.

I'm still disappointed Joseph Gordon-Levitt turned it down though.

Hell it was Tull's idea to film 'The Dark Knight Rises' in Pitsburgh. He has a lot of power and control, and isn't just the 'money guy'.

Yep, which is why Legendary needs to be involved in JL. Tull seems to "get it" when it comes to geeky movies. Legendary's movies don't seem to ever feel "cheap" as well imo. WB would be fools to let them go without a fight.

its possible, zilla is now considered an official kaiju. through truthfully thats probably so toho can **** the character about lol

kinda disappointed its going to be original would love to see ghidorah on the big screen

If you watched the LAST Gojira film from TOHO, you would have seen 'Zilla' fight the ORIGINAL Godzilla in "Godzilla: Final WArs" and that was released for the Big G's 40th Anniversary in 2004.

Well, actually "fight" is a misnomer.

"Zilla" got his ASS kicked, is more like it.
Then it was blasted to smithereens with the Big G's atomic heat beam.

As for Gojira fighting King Ghidorah, unless Legendary BUYS the rights to use him, it isn't gonna happen.

And the licensing fees for each kaiju are quite expensive.

Does it really matter how long he's been around, though? Meh, maybe because I'm not a huge Godzilla fan. Could change with this movie, though.

Bryan Cranston and Elizabeth Olsen? That's the first bit of news that has actually gotten me interested in this project. They are both fantastic.

Godzilla doesn't need its own forums, though. Star Wars and Star Trek got theirs because they are multi-media mega-giants: with popular TV shows, movies, comics, cartoons, video games, etc. And they are franchises with definite sequels in the future. I feel like if something is not superhero-oriented, that's the base requirement for something to get its own forum here at the Hype. The last Godzilla wasn't exactly a hit, the pop culture demand for other Godzilla products is pretty much at zero, and this movie is in no way guaranteed success or a sequel yet, so the brand has a long way to go before it's earned its own forum here, imo.
