Well I for one am glad Godzilla is attacking San Francisco...as a lifelong Godzilla fan, I've always pictured various landmarks being destroyed by the Big G and the Golden Gate is always high on that list...

With that said, I would have said have him destroy New York, but NY is always the city that giant monsters attack...we may have a lot of memorable big cities in America, but not all of them have great landmarks to destroy.

Further, Godzilla himself briefly attacked NY in Destroy All Monsters and we won't mention 1998's debacle

Aren't there Golden Gate attack scenes in Pacific Rim as well? I distinctly remember the folks from legendary discussing how they did their best to keep the two films from stepping on each other's territory.

For anyone in the know, does it sound like this film will have alot of sililarities to PAC RIM? It's a given that both have giant monsters, natch. What I mean is will it have an international flavor? Will Zilla be BBQing many nations or will Canada be set dressed to only look like the U.S. and Japan?

I have a feeling it may be the latter (Canada as USA and Japan)

Is it wrong that I find Cranston handsome?

The answer is no.:o

That banner from the licensing expo reminds me very much of the packaging for the Criterion edition of Gojira.

‘Godzilla’ Could Feature Multiple Monsters

(A press release trumpeting the marketing opportunities for the film describes the movie)

Featuring spectacular creatures, thrilling action, epic battles and a legendary monster, Godzilla provides the backbone for a monstrous merchandise offering for fans of all ages and enables compelling cross-category opportunities across mass and specialty retailers.

Hi folks, probably a silly question on my part, however are there any pictures of Godzilla itself?

Godzilla 98' rules! And can't wait until this one. It's really awesome that we're finally going to get to see a dinosaur-like creature finally roaming around the streets again on the big screen. This and Smaug? It's the year of the reptile! (yes, I know that's scientifically not that accurate, or at least I don't think so...)

There's the leaked picture from Comic Con last year, but it's only a silhouette and it's probably not the finalized design.

Goyer? :csad: So the movie's going to have expositionary or just down right awful dialogue.

Goyer was just one of many writers...the one who did the final draft that I'm aware of was Frank Darabont...a great great writer in my opinion :)

Thankfully Goyer rarely is allowed enough input to ruin films...just taint them slightly while far more competent writers do most of the work.
