Lethal Weapon Reboot Series in the Works at WBTV and FOX

I am loving the chemistry of the cast. I adore how Trish treats Riggs like he is a part of their family. I never expected to like this as much as I do, but I kind of love it. Just need a bit more Jordana Brewster every week.

"We don't talk about the situation in front of civilians!" The shower fiht scene was hilarious, but I thought they overdid Roger's reaction to Riggs helping his son, he never gave him a chance to explain and then chinned him.

I think they were trying to play up the fear of a black father hearing their child was pulled over. I thought it worked because I feel like Roger has been shown to overreact in general, but yeah it was pretty quick.

Fox orders a full season

I guess it's doing well enough for Fox to order another 8 episodes, rounding out to 18 for season one. Is this a decent sign there will be a season 2? Magical trucks aside, I'm still hoping the show can find a decent audience and move forward on it's own merit.

I can see why they gave it a full season. It certainly has fared better than the other would be movie spinoff Rush Hour.

I think the major difference is, Rush Hour would have been canned even it were a different property. Lethal Weapon would probably do even better if it were called something else.

This is a really good way of putting it. Lethal Weapon's biggest problem is it isn't really Lethal Weapon. But if you are okay with that, it is really enjoyable imo.

At this point in time Lethal Weapon is Fox's 2nd highest rated show, after Empire, and has almost twice the audience of The Simpsons, the 3rd highest rated show on Fox.
And double the ratings and viewers of Gotham and Lucifer.

I LOVE this show. I'm a fan of the police procedural shows (SVU, Chicago PD) and this one has some added comedy to it. It's a slightly different take on Riggs and Murtaugh from the movies, but there are definitely the similarities. The Murtaugh in this series is less about "Getting to Old" and more about trying to prove he's not as old as he is, which allows for the series to have some length to it.

Clayne Crawford does a good job playing Riggs. Granted, Mel Gibson's Riggs is an iconic character, but Crawford adds something different to it. Wayans does well as Murtaugh, and I feel like the chemistry between him and Crawford works well, much like Mel Gibson and Danny Glover.

I like the changes to the show from the movie, such as Trish being a successful lawyer instead of what seemed to be more of a housewife in the movies.

Now, if you could cast someone to play Leo, who would it be?

Why wasn't this on last week?

I prefer this show to MacGyver. Riggs seems more Jack Black than Mel Gibson though.

Also, why do they have that character Detective Alex Cruz? He looks nothing like a detective. He looks like a gang member and criminal and has a creepy stare and presence. I always a suspicious that he's going to turn out to be a villain.

Another fun episode this week, the show has been consistently entertaining, loved the way Riggs took that car out to save Rachel and the "Which Rihanna?" scene between Roger and Trish.

Never in a million years did I expect to so much as tolerate this show, but I'm absolutely loving it. What's more, my wife of all people is loving it just as much. I'm hoping they introduce a nemesis or recurring, singular villain to drive a larger narrative than the procedural case-of-the-week they've got going.

Also, are we getting Lorna Cole introduced next week? The blonde in the promos looks like she could be Lorna.

This week's episode was fun. Riggs's friend Rachel reminds me of someone in real life. What's the name of that actress?

Also nice to see Maggie Sawyer back, albeit in flashbacks.

Jordana Brewster was nowhere to be seen this week.

The Christmas ep was really good, there were some neat nods to the first film and it set up an overarching mystery for the second half of the season, plus Clayne Crawford put in another fine performance.

Lethal Weapon is a movie dear to my heart. It's one of my all time favorites and one of those movies I could watch every other day. And I never thought I'd say this... and I didn't really like the trailers released last summer, but...

I LOVE this series. It's respectful to the core of the movies, while finding its own voice, instead of just mimicking what we've already seen. And the Christmas episode was exceptional!

It's great to see Damon Wayans again, and Clayne Crawford is true relevation! He's gonna make it big!

And, please, to whoever lives in the United States (because it's all on you, guys): WATCH. THIS. SHOW. I don't want it to get canceled by the network.

I feel like Clayne Crawford would make a good Wolverine if Fox recast the role after Jackman leaves. I enjoyed Crawford in Spectral as well.

Finally watched the Christmas episode. It set up an intriguing mystery. Nice to see Floriana Lima here as well.

Murtaugh had some fun scenes with his family.
