The Dark Knight Let's debate various aspects of TDK

Hey Figman, glad someone missed me!:woot:
I have been very busy at work for about the last month, we've been short-staffed and the place has been very busy, and have had no time in the evenings to catch up, lot of heavy personal stuff going on.
What have I missed? Not much news from the luck of it.
Of course I have missed you- don't you dare suggest otherwise! :cwink:

At least you know that your personal-stuff is only ever going to be a mildly-uncomfortable-Coronation-Street set next to my moderately-holocaustic-Brookeside!

I'll be honest- I am a psychological mess. Keyser Sushi is one a few people who can have claimed to have "kept the wolf from the door". Go Keyser!

Anyway, Batman is cool 'n'stuff.

Hey Reg! Good to see ya, man. How are things?

Not bad, ta. I'm relieved to see a familiar face on here!

Graar! This thread sucks! I hate it so much! Keyser Sushi is a jackass! This thread shouldn't exist! It's not fair! I hate this stupid thread so much....I'm going to keep posting in it to express my extreme dislike, thus bumping it back up to the top of the page.

:o

I must admit I'm glad to see my old friends popping out of the woodwork. Last night there was a lot of *****ery going on, I was afraid this place had been conquered by an army of trolls...

:o

If there's one thing I can say for the n00b invasion. it's that it has made me realize you're actually a top man.

Why thank you. I've always viewed you as a worthy adversary. :woot:

:D

I've missed this. All of this. I truly have...

So Sushi, how do you like my nickname for you? Soooosh? :oldrazz:

Well its nice to have a lot of you guys back. Because this place was beginning as you can tell, being taken over by trolls, both haters and lovers of TDK. I don't post much here now, just because of that annoyance.

Anyone else feel needing a thread dedicated to intelligent discussion undermines the rest of this forum?

I feel offended. :o

Up until now though its been full of exchanging compliments between the 6.000+ posts members. Intelligent. Ingenious.

Solidus! Another name I know. Thank the Maker! I guess the lot of us will have to Take Back the Knight, so to speak...

HA!!! Good to see ya, Crook, you righteous pain in the ass. :D

Can we discuss something? This is becoming more of a Lounge than the current one :o

I'll start:

What does everyone think about the "progression" of the Bat-suits so far?

Do you think that this is simply a marketing scheme from WB to make new toys, or is it something that the Nolans have had planned? Perhaps both?

What if there is a final version of the Bat-suit yet to be seen that could be considered the "definitive" suit - one that fits the spirit of the comic version closely?

I blame Begins.:woot:

Alot of the old guys dont post anymore because of that. I dont post here because I dont want to spoil anything for myself when I see TDK.

I think it mostly has to do with WB, and Nolan and Co. just make it work as best they can within their story.

LOL lets hope so.

Today I just got my Hardcover edition of TKJ.

Reading it got me thinking of possiblities of TDK, and the Joker. One line that keeps sticking out to me that I love is the "Madness is an emergency exit" line. Gotta love it.

I agree, but to be fair I haven't these people in forever, and they haven't seen me either, so there's a bit of reunioning to do, and the thread title I suppose implies that. But yes, also discussion. I like discussion. :D

That's a good question.

My guess is it's a bit of both. No doubt WB wanted multiple bat-suits as they traditionally do, but I think that the spirit of Begins was that things still had some growing to do, so Nolan probably expected the suit to evolve some anyway. Also it's a foregone conclusion they wanted to do something to improve suit mobility as that's been a constant struggle with this series.

I'd say that they probably learned some things last time around that gave them some thoughts on how to improve it this time, and I'd also lay money that they wanted this movie to have a different look and feel, and modifying the Bat-suit is one way to contribute to that.

In essence, I'm sure it's what WB wanted but I'm also sure that Nolan had his own reasons for doing it, too. If nothing else, it would be Nolan's style to have to provide a good reason for it, in-continuity, and since we know Begins Batman only had the one suit, this is as good a time as any to address that aspect of it.

As for another suit, I don't think you'll see one in this movie, but if Nolan does BB3 (please God) then perhaps that will happen.

I have to say it's interesting the hate this topic is causing with other members making threads :ninja:

But like I said in the other thread before it got closed, it's cool to see you two back, and your comments remind me of dvd commentaries! :)

Y'know, that's something I still haven't read. I've seen bits of it over the years, and sadly I know how it ends, which puts me off reading it. The Batman I know wouldn't share a laugh with the Joker, he'd kick the living hell out of him. But anyway... I know there's going to be some aspects of that book in TDK, and I'm comfortable with that.

I thought as much - there just wasn't much discussing going on for a while :O

That's what was getting at yes :woot::up:

I think that, if Nolan is indeed going with an "evolving" kind of approach to Batman and his suit, then another transition would be natural in the next movie (if he does, of course - here's to hoping :brucebat:)

It is, I hadn't anticipated quite this much hatred. It's been amusing.

But like I said in the other thread before it got closed, it's cool to see you two back, and your comments remind me of dvd commentaries! :)

Thanks. :) It's nice to be back!
