I dont know if this deserves its own thread but, What did you guys think of the ending of batman, It seems to me that The end left him as he was in the beggining of Of Batman Begins, Cops not trusting him and assuming hes the bad guy. How will this carry on to a trilogy, I mean Cops are supposed to like batman, not take him for a bad guy.

I agree; I like the complexity of their world; it's not good and Bad. Batman took the fall and he knows he can survive it and in the end it will make Gotham a better place. Dramatic and very exciting.

Well if Two-Face returns, everyone will see Batman for what he truly is and what Gotham truley needs to keep them safe, the Dark Knight. Gotham doesn't need a White Knight. Seeing how valiant Batman was and how he tried to protect Dent's image and they find out that their "hero", Harvey Dent is dead will really change all of their minds from seeing him as a hero or a vigilante and moreso as The Dark Knight he really is.

Anyone think the ending of Dark Knight could work really well to bring the Riddler into the story, the Riddler tries to find out what really happened with Harvey Dent, seeing it as the ultimate Riddle. Obviously the next movie will be about the redmeption of Batman, just wondering what type of villian could help in that story.

The ending reminded me of the Empire Strikes Back. It seemed unfinished. But I really loved how it ended. It'll keep us guessing how the 3rd movie will be.

Seeing as how Bats took the blame for killing Cops, and Cops liked Batman (how they clapped as Dent was lead through MCU when they thought he was Batman), the possibilities for some major drama in a 3rd film are all there.

A lot of people already hated him and he was doing it to protect gotham; thats why Gordon gives his speech in the end.

Seeing as how Bats took the blame for killing Cops, and Cops liked Batman (how they clapped as Dent was lead through MCU when they thought he was Batman), the possibilities for some major drama in a 3rd film are all there.

I was under the impression that they were clapping because they knew Dent was NOT Batman and was using himself as Bait. or that he was not Batman; but, was willing to say so to protect Batman. I think the movie made it clear that people don't like Batman in this city too much. Especally probably not cops with the majority of them being corrupt or knowing someone corrupt and was Prosecuted by Dent when he was in I.A.

I dont see how a corrupt corporation like police from Gotham are supposed to like Batman.

I think The Dark Knight ending is perfect! Police is not supposed to like Batman, only Gordon and few other honest cops close to Gordon.

It was an incredible ending, seeing Fox leave and Gordon explaining to his son why Batman has to be the bad guy now... it gave me the Batman vs the world. Very dramatic, I can't wait to see it again

I'm not sure Fox left I mean once he entered his name the machin broke so he sorta got what he wanted and while he was walking away he had a smile across his face

so I'm fairly sure Fox is still working for Bruce, While Gordon's speach was perfect I just wish they would of shown Joker in Arkham with Harley about to treat him that would of been a awesome ending in my book

It was nice because Batman is the real hero that Gotham deserves (which gives Gordon's words at Harvey's funeral a certain irony), but he knows he can survive taking the heat. After losing Rachel I'm pretty sure he has accepted he is Batman for good. Also, considering he refused to let it go when people were dying and when Harvey took the fall for him, Rachel was right in her letter as was Joker when he mused about how Batman let five people die and Harvey take the heat, just so he could continue being Batman. Bruce psychologically needs it and he distanced himself from Lucius and Rachel (before she died) because of that.

Batman can take it. and that gives an interesting aspect to use in teh third film which is Batman's vindication in the city where they embrace him as their hero and symbol and he can meet with Gordon again.

Yes I saw him type his name in and the screens being destroyed but he told Bruce that he was gone after doing this for him this one time.

I love Fox, I hope he's back but I'm going on what Fox said to Bruce, I know it's Hollywood and he is probably back.

I got the feeling Fox left. He said he'd do it this one time but it is a symbol of his resignation. Just because Batman destroyed it (or let Lucius do so), doesn't mean all is forgiven. Fox had had enough of this superhero nonsense and moral graying of his life. He retires and Bruce is alone. He has Alfred in the sequel. Besides Fox had to leave somehow and at some point.

Fox said he would not work for Bruce AS LONG as this machine was around, so with the machine gone I think he'll be back, someone has to make the new Tumbler.

As for the ending I liked it but I'm worried how a third movie can do after seeing how great this one was

Is a good ending,where now Christopher Nolan(like other people said)can choose what he wants for the 3rd one.He can now bring Two-Face back and say he never die.
So I LOVE THE WHOLE MOVIE.

The ending depressed the hell out of me! Nolan obviously left it for Heath to reprise the role of the Joker.. now that can never happen. Excuse me while I go suck the barrel of a shotgun

I found it to be a very moving ending.

i also found it very moving. the redemption of batman will make for a great ending to the third film and make the ending of tdk just that much better. that ending has already got me ready for another film. it will be interesting.
