The Dark Knight Let's debate various aspects of TDK

I thought as much - there just wasn't much discussing going on for a while :O

QFT. :oldrazz:

That's what I was thinking as well - good points

That's what was getting at yes :woot::up:

I think that, if Nolan is indeed going with an "evolving" kind of approach to Batman and his suit, then another transition would be natural in the next movie (if he does, of course - here's to hoping :brucebat:)

Agreed. Maybe the armor plating can get more subtle, bringing out more of a fabricky look all over, which I know would appease a LOT of people.

Perhaps a fabric overlay on the new suit akin to the texture seen under the armor, except a bit more subtle.

It's an interesting idea, regardless :brucebat:

Finally a thread to intelligently debate...yes!

'Tis most refreshing, if you ask me.

I've heard suggestions like that one before -- a guy named Wams used to have this HUGE thread about Bat-suits and everybody and their Mom made paintings, drawings, or manips of their ideal Bat-suits, ranging from poop to awesome.

The way I see it, if they did a fabric overlay what they would do is make a fabric suit and put some builds under it (like the Spider-Man suit) to create the shape they want. I'd think that a heavy fabric suit could have some visible stitching to look like armor plates are sewn into the fabric, underneath. Basically the new suit inside-out. I think that way you get the shape and the impression of the armor plates, while at the same time a more organic-looking fabric suit.

Just my current thoughts, anyway.

So you re saying that we have been discussing like ******s until now huh? Including YOU of course!

Isnt it a pity that this isnt in the batsuit thread for everyone to see and contribute? Here those interested in the batsuit might miss it. Since there are threads for almost anything, the respective debate should go in there.

True. Yes that is what im saying. This thread is like saying 'Debate the Dark Knight'. I think we should have like an annoucement for this forum only saying this forum member is back that is deleted in a certain amount of time, cool, we read it, we know it has happened, and let the other threads continue to flourish in their relevance as the dark knight hype builds!:brucebat:

(I refer you to the Juno photo above :ninja: )

I don't know who this girl is. She looks kinda young, but I think if I was sixteen I would climb it like a ladder...

Speaking as a 16 year old, QFT. Except for the whole, "Knowing who she is part." I know who she is. And she's actually 21. :wow:

I am not trolling here, just noting that members with less than a billion posts in their name agree with me. Maybe because they dont know Sushi or because they like the good order of this board and dont want it ruined in favour of a friend who came back and dont act all pretentious and stuff.

OK, you came back, can you discuss the batsuit in the batsuit discussion thread where we can easily see it? You can go on exchanging compliments and talking about underaged girls, thats fine. I wont bother you about that.
Sandouras, you are one of the Hype's greatest gems. Only our insights have any meaning here.
Thank you Bank Manager.

Graar! This thread sucks! I hate it so much! Keyser Sushi is a jackass! This thread shouldn't exist! It's not fair! I hate this stupid thread so much....I'm going to keep posting in it to express my extreme dislike, thus bumping it back up to the top of the page.

Since you are interested in intelligent discussion, you should be open to criticisms of this topic. I can't speak for the tact of the people doing to criticizing, but I can say your response doesn't scream "I want to have a nice discussion" to me. On page one, a member--who mentioned enjoying the thread well enough--described it as "grandstanding." Rather than address the issue (which is legitimate, regardless of how it was voiced) you called the poster a "noob" and told him in no uncertain terms to shut up and go away.

This confused me. I would have expected a well-conceived rebuttal detailing how this thread exists not to grandstand, but rather to encourage a higher standard of discussion, which, of course, would be nice.

This thread will not serve what you're trying to do. It has already been demonstrated that this is the case. Everyone on this board believes their contributions are intelligent. No one says "Huh, this post is pretty stupid and worthless" and proceeds to click the submit button. Accordingly, one of two things will happen:

1) Posts below your standard will be made here, because nobody knows what your standard is and everyone believes their posts to be "intelligent."

2) Posts ridiculing your Intelligence Club Thread will be made by those who will perceive this as an insult to the quality of discussion on the rest of the board.

At which point, you will call the posters noobs and tell them to shut up and go away. I don't think this will be conducive to "intelligent debate."

Moreover, if I have an intelligent to make, I'm not going to make it here, in this directionless void. I'm going to make it in the topic where it fits. If it's about the Joker, I'll put it in the Joker topic, and so on. Why put it here, where the discussion will be all over the map, when I can put it where it belongs?

If you really want to raise the bar, the correct solution is making your "intelligent" posts throughout the board, not in The Intelligence Club Thread. I appreciate your goal here, but this thread is a mistake.

I applaud your logic!

Um, Saint... that's Soze. I believe you meant to address this to me. Sushi.

For what it's worth, as I've stated already, this isn't the title that Norm intended to give this thread - our original one was just us talking, and was designed for people to rebut our theories, postulations and opinions.

Sadly, that thread was closed -- and people viewed it as us trying to elevate the importance of our opinions, which was never our intent. So we were told to re-do the thread with the current title, and explain (as Norm did, in the first post) that this is for everybody to post their thoughts in. Therefore we're not trying to elevate the importance of our own opinions at all.

Did you read the first post in this thread?

Or you could have stated your opinions in the thread they correspond and wait for people to answer. Did anyone else make a personal blog here for people to view and discuss their (of the OP) opinions?

Oh damn.....looks like poor old C. Lee is going to have to read threough this thread and start handing out probations to people.
