Let's Make The Marijuana Thread Again!

Yeah someone using Weed to improve their life quite possibly has issues, issues like chronic pain, grand mal seizures (epilepsy), multiple sclerosis, PTSD, nausea, loss of appetite, cancer, Parkinsons, IBS, diabetes, arthritis, PMS, among many other ailments.

It's quite a thing to enter a thread and just accuse the frequenters of said thread of being "slackers" & "losers", without actually knowing any of those people. It's quite an antagonistic statement from someone who is self-described as a "friendly Christian" [in your sig].

This guy^ will certainly never amount to anything! :o

What a fat, lazy slob! There's no way he could be highly motivated & busy, or be super fit & healthy in his late-40's, or be worth millions of dollars or an accomplished martial artist when he smokes so much weed! :o

In News - Ohio Might Be Next to Legalise, Will Vote in November

http://blog.norml.org/2015/08/13/responsibleohio-initiative-qualifies-for-the-2015-november-ballot/
i'll admit i don't really know who carl sagan is, but this man seems to be a legend...every single person arguing against marijuana should take note.

I haven't been the Hype stoned in forever.

Disclaimer: I do not condone children taking drugs. It's just a joke.
i'd like to think that that mother was just thinking that last part to her head. no way should be whip out the bong in front of her kid.

Sagan was one of the most influential ambassadors of science and astronomy/astrophysics in particular. He popularized the subject with his groundbreaking series COSMOS which was recently revived by Neil Tyson, a man he mentored. Sagan was adamant in taking a scientic, logic and fact based aproach to most issues and was a celebrated public figure of science and pop culture in general.

The logic that because one is worse than the other and is freely used, that we should introduce something else to become freely abused. Well, it's... illogical.
what is the logic in alcohol being legal?

:funny: Okay, man. So much for the laid back pothead stereotype.
way to be condescending :whatever:

You expect me to have a laid back attitude with when you're coming at me in an unfriendly manner in two threads?

You do know that the person you quoted was banned months ago? Were you really expecting an answer from him?
not exactly. I just remember that post in this thread, I didn't even remember who made it but I knew a response I wanted to make.
I don't think he was being condescending....I think he was being sarcasticly amazed at your total lack of a sense of humor.
that was supposed to be funny?

Well....since to quote it you had to go to the post, and it says right there under his name BANNED USER, it should have been pretty obvious.

that was supposed to be funny?

I laughed.

Yo XB, I've noticed you've been defensive lately.

Is everything good?

ok, my bad then. I should've paid closer attention.
I laughed.
well, it really wasn't funny to me. And I have laughed on numerous different occasions while I've been on the hype.

well, I should probably quit while I'm ahead. I'll pm

Listen, brochacho, all my posts related to weed have in no way, shape, or form been about advocating its criminalization. Each and every time I bring it up I talk about its risks, nothing more, nothing less.

The tangent you went on comparing it to alcohol had absolutely nothing to do with what I said, so I'm not sure why you quoted me, hence I proceeded to have some tongue in cheek fun at your apparent need to absolve marijuana of all its consequences. I'm not trying to boot up the gestapo to come and take anyone's spliffs.

No hard feelings homeslice

There definitely are risks that come with it, but that shouldn't be a reason to keep it legal, seeing as how there is a substance with more risks involved that is already legal. This is the reason why I keep bringing up alcohol, personally. If you're talking about the Trump thread, I did put a disclaimer there that it looked like you were against legalization so if you weren't, then there's no reason we shouldn't be agreeing about this.

Weed puts me to sleep... Dunno how people can think and even party on it....

That's probably because you have only ever smoked Indica. Weed isn't all the same. There is Canabis Indica and Canabis Sativa. And they both have different effects on the user:

Sativa

uplifting and energetic
cerebral, spacey or hallucinogenic
best suited for day use

Indica

relaxing and calming
body buzz or ‘couch lock’
best suited for night use

Here is a picture of the differences between the leaves and the full plant:

If you want to party with weed Sativa is what you want. If you want to sleep then Indica is what you want. Some people react badly to sativa. It can make a person uncomfortable, paranoid, and make them lose their **** if they start focusing on something like the way their tongue feels in their mouth or how fast their heart is beating. Which is why its not a great idea to smoke sativa with a first time user.

Mods: If pictures of the plants and leafs isn't ok I apologize and will remove them or you can and I won't post them again.

I can't wait for it to be legal on the East Coast so I can experiment with different strains and edibles.

Unfortunately my job wouldn't allow me to partake even if it was legal. If my employer drug tested me and it was in my system I would be fired. Or if I needed to file an injury on worker's comp I would have to take a drug test and if I had smoked in the past 30 days it would show up in my system, and my claim would be denied, and then I would be fired. Or if I accidentally hurt someone at work I would be required to do a drug test and if I had smoked in the past 30 days it would show up in my system, and then I would face possible criminal charges.

Legalizing weed is only the first step. Laws have to be put into place to protect employees from being fired or charged for something they did in the last 30 days while they were off work.

Got my pot card last week. It was faster than ordering at McDonalds. I walked in, handed the guy a pill bottle, the other guy asked what I would like to I buy, and I've got it in my pocket before I even get my picture taken for the card. I didn't have to say anything or write anything down. It was almost completely non verbal.

Yeah, no one stays stoned for 30 days.

It's ridiculous to punish someone for getting baked days or weeks ago.

Hopefully when it's legalized employers will treat cannabis like alcohol.

Memory loss is temporary.

It's also the reason cannabis is an ideal treatment for PTSD.

i'm not so sure i agree completely. my father has PTSD from wartime, and self-medicated with it to forget. it's a temporary release and it comes back. so much of my childhood he was high nearly all the time, and when he was, i hate to say it, but he was completely useless. couldn't (or wouldn't) do anything except act childish to irritate us

I think it's unfortunate your father was annoying when his medicine had those fun side effects.

I smoke when my kids are sleeping. On the rare occassion I interact with them I enjoy them in ways I usually don't.

Alcohol causes domestic violence, child abuse and sex abuse.

Weed makes me want to watch anime and play Black Flag with my kids. Or discuss nature or sci-fi.

Your father needed a jedi mentor. He would've knew how to use the force.

What a waste of what sounds like some decent green.

Weed doesn't react well with some people. It's like that with anything that affects the brain. The general effects are similar from one person to another, but how each individual's brain copes with those general effects can vary wildly. It's like how some people are funny laid back drunks and some people are raging women beating drunks. Some people are annoying when they are high. Some are funny and a blast when they are high. Some are mean. Yes that does happen. I've met some people that turn into paranoid *******s when they get high. It's unfortunate.
