Brief history of the character in their films up to the start of the RPG: Born to a wealthy ranchero and his wife in a 19th century, primarily mexican populated California, Diego de la Vega only spent half of his childhood in his native lands. But at an early age, after the death of his mother, Diego's father, Alejandro, was overcome with grief and an inability to properly care for his young son. Deciding to send him off to Madrid for a prestigious education, Diego slowly but promptly excelled in every field that he could, from literature to stage acting, even primarily down to such daring subjects as fencing and militant combat. Journeying back to California as an adult, both to reunite with his father and learn of his heritage firsthand, Diego was shocked to learn that his homeland of California was overtaken by corrupt Goverors and Law Officials. Deciding to free his people from dread, but knowing such an act would disgrace his family's name and reputation, Diego donned the dark cloak, hat, and mask of El Zorro, a champion of the people.
What font face and color do you plan on using for your character's speech: Century Gothic, Bold for Zorro,
Century Gothic Regular for Don Diego
Please write, in character, a two-paragraph (No more, no less) sample post. Please ensure that your post is in character, contains dialogue, and conforms to standard guidelines of the English language:
Don Diego de la Vega sighed to himself, admist his constant flashing of a smile towards Sargeant Garcia's elaborate, and quite exaggerated tale of his commision's recent encounter with the vigilante known throughout all of California as "the Fox". Sighing, because while he did intend to keep up his act of disinterest and scarce boredem, he had to admit to himself that he was growing bored himself. As Sargeant Garcia continued the tale, he looked over at his friend, seeing the expression on Diego's face.
"My apologies, Diego,", Garcia stated, taking his outwardly thrusted sword and placing it back into it's holster.
"I hope that my little accounting for what happened in persuit of the outlaw did not leave you too bedazzled."
Diego sat up, a smile on his face, trying his best to hide his actual thoughts behind it.
"No, it should be me who should apologise, Senior.", Diego began.
"The tale does quite excite me, but I must admit... even the thought of such daring heroics by your administration leaves me with a quiver. I would never be caught dead in such acts of violence."
Garcia chuckled.
"Si, si, I'm aware, Diego. Perhaps it is best we leave the tale as it stands."
Diego nodded.
"I would be most abliged, Sargeant."
Just then, the door to Garcia's office in the pueblo opened, as one of his fellow guards to the stronghold stepped within, in a hurry.
"Sargeant! Sargeant, come quick! There has been a murder in the tavern! Don Limberto has been stabbed to death!", The guard shouted, as Garica's eyes widened.
"My word!", Garcia exclaimed, as Diego stood.
"I'm afraid I may have to tend to this, Diego."
"Of course, senior.", Diego acknowledged, before giving a performanced yawn.
"It is getting late, anyway. I should be off to the ranchero."
As the three men departed Garcia's office... elsewhere, Limberto's killers were still at large, as they climbed into the now unoccupied ranchero of Don Carnilio. The Don himself, in the study, was merely reading literature when he noticed that two uninvited guests had entered the study. Turning, Don Carnilio stood in his chair, met with the end of a pistol.
"Who... what do you want?!", He asked, his fear evident.
"Why, the most soughted gift of all, Senior.", One of the unrecognisable gunman stated, before pulling the trigger. "Revenge!"
Before Don Carnilio could protest, the gun was fired, and down went it's victim, slumped in his own chair. Grinning to themselves, the two murderers ran over to the opened safe, ceased the medallions and valubles inside, and rushed back to the window, climbing out to the rooftops above. Laughing to themselves, with bags of Don Carnilio's and Don Limberto's valubles over their shoulders, the two murderers leaped across the rooftops, before coming to a stop to count their stealings.
"Captain Montasterio shall be most pleased, eh?", One asked the other, his vicious pleasure in the killings evident.
"Pleased? Let me tell you, Felipe... by the time we have returned to him with this news, we shall have enough pay to rid ourselves of trouble for a lifetime!", The other laughed, as they continued.
"I must argue, Seniors...", A mysterious voice suddenly boomed, behind them.
"Your troubles are merely beginning."
Eyes widening, the murderers turned, only to be met with a shadowy figure standing behind them atop the moonlit roof. A metallic sword drawn from his dimly lit diguise, pointed directly at the two, they looked at eachother in fear, knowing just who they were facing in an instant. This was the outlaw that the Californians had regarded as a hero, and the corrupted had regarded as a threat. But now, they regarded him as the name of which he had made infamous across the land.
"Zorro!"
Are there any attached NPC's that you will require for your character? Alejandro de la Vega (Diego's father), Bernardo (Diego's aide), Esperansa (Diego's love), Tornado (Zorro's steed), Sargeant Garcia (Diego's friend and Zorro's main persuer) and various old-world Californian soldiers and captains. (My plan is for Zorro to be secluded to a culture that still believes in the 19th century's way of life)
How many times per day do you plan on posting in character?: As many as needed of me.
What, if anything, can you bring to this RPG? I have alot of insight on Zorro's history, past his film incarnations, being a longtime fan of the character. I also have plenty of inspiration in some of the many characters Zorro spawned... particularly my favorite, Batman.
Do you know how to post pictures on the boards?
