If we don't get Bale back...

Hamm is the only choice I can even fathom. Everyone else already mentioned has hints and pieces of Bruce Wayne/Batman but none have the whole package let alone half. Hamm, is the most promising. Only doubt his athletic ability for Batman but feel he could pull that off.

Well, Hamm, didnt want the Superman gig,
He thought he was too old for the part.
Hard to believe that he wouldnt think the same about the Batman role .
Hamm would be great though.

Hamm would be pretty awesome. I could see it. The way Snyder tends to cast his superhero roles so visually spot-on, I could definitely see Hamm as "Snyder's Batman". The fact that they've worked together and he's a highly acclaimed actor certainly doesn't hurt anything.

I think Hamm is probably the best choice if they're going older.

I think Hamm would be fine with his shape. He'll hit the gym but I don't think it matters. I think we'll get the most CG with this Bats than ever before.

I just don't trust Jett period.

I think that Matt Bomer looks mature enough for the part. As he gets older he will fit into the character very well.

He is 35 years old now and by the time movie is released he will be 37 years old, to me that's old enough to look mature. By the time a JL movie is released he will cross 40.

Here he looks like Bruce Wayne straight from Jim Lee's drawings. (IMO.)

But Bomer doesn't have the intensity needed. With Keaton and Bale you had that intensity in their eyes, a darkness even if they can do comedy well. Hamm has that too, not as much in the eyes but he can go dark.

That was a preview to his post about the older Batman.

I've never seen Mad Men, I'm assuming it's a pretty serious show? My only exposure to Hamm has been in Bridesmaids and his SNL sketches. He definitely looks the part, if he can pull off the intensity I wouldn't mind seeing him get cast.

To be honest, I see more Hamm than Bomer in those Jim Lee drawings.

I was starting to get behind Bomer not too long ago, but I'm starting to agree that he lacks the dark edge.

To be fair though, I could see Bomer as a "Kilmer Batman" of sorts. But we're probably going to need something more intense than that for this movie.

Weired definitions are being applied here.

Some people here equate anything close to 35 as "Rookie, and to them "Older" means close to 50.

If the actor is in 20 to 25 year range, then I can understand the arguments that he looks too young, but actors who are around 35 years old should not be called as young. By the time three movies are filmed, they will go past 45 years.

Argh :cmad: The way Jett writes is just so awful. He comes off as if he is the Batgod. He tries to be coy and act like he is some huge insider. It's so annoying. Report the news. Get over yourself.

"I will not confirm or deny that 2-345 people have said that I may or may not be a complete buffoon. But as always, check back later for more...WINK NUDGE SMILE!"

I'd be fully on board with a veteran Batman. We just saw the development of a young Batman in 3 movies.

It would be really cool to be introduce to this Batman after he is already 10 or so years on the job. He's seen it all, until Superman arrived.

He used to be alright but recently I've lost all resect for him. He constantly contradicts himself these days and the way he ways gets on about Nolan's trilogy it's like he's trying to convince himself he likes them so much.

So Batman-On-Film posted a status saying, "stay tuned" on Facebook. Does this mean that we will likely get a casting announcement or is it once again mere rumor?

Interesting, although I wouldn't be shocked if its just another rumour

Edit: see lol

I know what you mean, but I do feel that a face with a few wrinkles in it and a little grey hair goes a long way in conveying to the audience that this is an experienced Batman. That sense of wisdom and experience might be key to having the audience buy into a new version of the character so soon.

Bomer shows some intensity in this scene (I do not watch White Collar, so I don't know more.)

We might as well get Clint Eastwood, then...

Lol that is not intense, that is a pretty boy trying to act intense. He doesn't even speak a work in that clip

Kevin Smith on Jon Hamm/Mad Men:

"He's always brooding on that show. He comes off like Bruce Wayne," said Smith. "That voice of his—the Don Draper voice—that's f---ing Batman!"

Zero intensity. Having a serious face doesn't equal intensity, edge or darkness.

Really hope they go with an older actor (it seems most of the actors under 40 are in a franchise already or I can't see them as both Bat/Bruce).
older Batman choices from me
#1 Bale - WB is probably trying their best to get him back. I bet they are throwing RDJ money, if not more. IF Bale did come back the movie might rival Avengers and Age of Ultron.

#2 Jon Hamm - Second best option besides Bale imo.

#3 Jim Caviezel - He basically plays a similar character on Person of Interest and would be great as Batman/Bruce

#4 Karl Urban

#5 Richard Armitage

#6 Josh Brolin

#7 Anson Mount

#8 Nikolaj Coster-Waldau

#9 Gerard Butler

If its an older Batman, it should be Jon Hamm, he's easily the best choice for a 40 something.

How about the other guy in the clip, Tim Dekay? He's a great actor. Loved his work in Carnivale.

Damn, I think Dekay would be a fantastic Bruce.

I like Waldau but I'd like him as Batman more..

No to Gerard Butler or Armitage. I'm really not feeling Caviezel either honestly.

Karl Urban would do the role well but I don't like his look for Bruce.

Hamm, Mount, and Brolin would all be good in my eyes though

Noooooooooo! He doesn't look like Bruce at all, and doesn't have the voice
