The Dark Knight Likes And Dislikes

Of course it's ridiculous, but that's the point of the Bat symbol. To play on the superstitions of the people. He's meant to be an urban legend to the public, not a man in a mask. Later on, yes, people will know he's a man, but this early in his career, he should be largely a mystery to the public.

And, I would imagine that, if rumors were spreading of a 6 foot tall bat creature gliding around New York city, I doubt your first thought would be of a man in a costume. It would probably be disbelief, or superstition.

It's the same as what they did in Batman '89 and I think the possible lack of that is a valid concern. It doesn't bother me much, but I can understand disliking the possible devaluing of Batman's symbol.

my bad, I thought you meant people that had seen him already. like the squared chin protruding from the mask and the perfect english and gothamites would still be like ":wow: A MAN-BAT! KILL IT WITH FIRE!!!"

That image of someone doing that cracks me up pretty hard.

*Batman swoops down*

Gothamite: "AN ABOMINATION OF GODS CREATIONS! A MAN BAT! WITCHCRAFT! SORCERY! KILL IT!!!"

Just watch 2 of the 6 writers from scary movie use that in there next spoof movie

What exactly is wrong with that? Maybe they simply like their Joker the way Nicholson has played it. Since we know Heath is playing a very different take, then it'd be understandable that they wouldn't be a fan.
I wonder how much love for Nicholson's Joker would people have if he had no origin. Without it, he's as campy as the Riddler or Tommy Jones 2 Face.

Why does Batman need a crash helmet for these films? Why can't he have a cloth hood like here:

"In the meantime, sir, may I suggest you try to avoid landing...on your head?"

According to whom?

Joker does start by saying "A year ago..."

Not sure if he really means it's actually been a year since Batman's debut, or if he's using more as a figure of speech.

But he mentions how the cops and lawyers wouldn't "cross them". It's not like as soon as Batman showed up, all corruption instantly disappeared. So in that sense, it could be more than a year. It wouldn't make sense for it to be a whole year since Bats tells Gordon he'll "look into it" though.

It took that lazy prick a year to look into it. I didnt know Batman was union :woot:

The Joker.

I mean it's just a guess on my part but when he says "a year ago these cops and lawyers couldn't touch you." I think it's a year since Gordon's talk of change on the rooftop in Begins.

Well you got Batman and Gordon standing around talking about what they're going to be doing...

Sounds like a government job to me.

hahahahaha...

"Ill look into it... after my 2 month paid maternity leave."

I think its just a month or two. Three months max.

I don't see how it makes a difference. Was the Joker he portrayed not reminiscent of the comic book incarnation during that era?

"In the meantime, sir, may I suggest you try to avoid landing...on your head?"
And if Bats had a full face-mask:

"In the meantime, sir, may I suggest you avoid getting shot in the face"
"In the meantime, sir, may I suggest you try not to breathe in favor of masking your identity"

:o

We all know it's a movie. Nolan did the best he could in justifying the molded suit, and for the most part, it works. Let's not fool ourselves into thinking a non-molded cowl would not have been sufficient for the character, or brought the audience out of disbelief.

LOST takes place in '04, you failure. :cmad:

Are you ******ed? They're using RAZRs in the flashforwards...
Yes, it's called a plot hole.

The flash-forwards still take place not long after the plane crash, which was '04. At best, they're in '05....which the RAZRs were already out in. :o

I haven't seen a single episode of Lost.

F*** that show, I say.

Kyles mom: Bwhawhawhawhat?

on all three counts: GET SOME SERIOUS MEDICAL HELP!

1) Its not the batcave.
2) We ve just seen some trailers. Just wait for the movie.
3) Yeah, thats just like.....stupid man!

Well holy f*** then, why dont you tell that to everyone posting in this thread. After all its likes and dislikes about a movie NO ONE HAS SEEN YET. What else do we have to go by besides the trailers? Maybe some of us actually want to enjoy the movie by not spoiling ourselves by reading all these predictions and plot spoilers. Who am I to know that stupid garage isnt the cave? I didnt completely spoil myself, im going by what I know so far about A MOVIE THAT HASNT EVEN COME OUT YET. And the trailers is what I'm going by, forgive me if im not 100% bang on with the plotline. I dont think everyone here is. And my opinion on not having scarecrow in the movie is "just stupid" ? 3 villains in a movie seems a bit nuts, just watch spiderman 3. OH BUT WAIT, MAYBE HE DIES EARLY, MAYBE 2 FACE ISNT REVEALED TILL THE END. Not everyone wants to know that information, thank you very much. The trailers do their job to advertise the movie, to give the public a general idea about the movie, and what its like. That is what im judging from, my likes and dislikes. Please forgive me. :whatever:

The flashforwards (some of them, anyway, since their timeframe varies) seem to go beyond 05, looking at Aaron.

Also, Lost is kickass.

I never liked Nicholson's Joker. I think there's a lot of respect for him since he was the first and did an adequate job. But, his Joker wasn't how I imagined. I think Heath's Joker will be the new standard for many fans. When I see and hear him, I believe that's one murderous psycho clown. I can imagine Heath's Joker in real life and how I would react to him.

I dislike the bulkiness of the Batpod. I can't see how it could make sharp turns in Gotham.

I don't know if Batarangs will still be steel gray but I hope he paints them black this time around. I like everything else.

The only thing that still bugs me is Heath's long hair. I got over the painted versus permawhite thing a while ago, I like his clothes, I love his portrayal in terms of acting, it's just his hair. I'd rather it be like it look like it does in the jail shot than how it looks hanging down the rest of the movie.

I like this:

Don't like this:

It's nitpicky, I know.
I think that second pic is the best pic of joker yet
