The Dark Knight Likes And Dislikes

Dislikes: I haven't seen any bats and am starting to think there won't be any in the movie.

Some people felt that bats were way overused in Batman Begins.

all the harvey dent crap, yeah thats gonna get annoying real quick

Chris Nolan has said though that Harvey Dent is really the backbone of The Dark Knight, that the Joker just kind of pops in and out to wreak havoc, but that the central story is that of Harvey Dent.

I'd personally like to see bats swarming through an amusement park.

Didn't they already do that in Batman Returns, when Bats summoned those ... uh ... bats ... to attack the Penguin at the abandoned amusement park?

Joker's look- I really hate the look.

Agreed.

Too much armor. very over the top.

Agreed.

The bat- symbol on the chest (if there is one) its too invisible you cant tell there is one its there at all.

Agreed. But wasn't it invisible in Batman Begins too?

The Batpod's name (just call it the Batcycle)

Exactly. I mean, how is it even a ... pod ... in any way? And why are they even calling it the Batpod within the actual movie? They didn't call the Tumbler the Batmobile in Batman Begins. The bat prefix is just silly. I thought that they were trying to avoid any trace of silliness.

The realisim again

Agreed.

Joker's make up (not permanent the way it should be)

Agreed.

Yeah? I don't remember that scene specifically, but it's been a long time since I saw that.

Funny enough, a scene I do remember is that incredibly anticlimactic about-face the penguins do. So, so lame.

Dislike: everyone on these boards whining everyday little little children not given the lollipop they've been begging for all day!! :)

And it's gotten to a point where some have started getting angry at the lollipop. :woot:

That whole movie was lame, IMO. Apart from Michelle Pfeiffer, MMMMMMM.

Come on Clark lets not turn this thread into a BR bash, we have a whole section for that. I like BR for what it is, and ill leave it at that, ill shut me mouth on the subject as...of...NOW!

Meh, it just evolved naturally in the conversation. I'll shut my mouth now too though. I'm not really into discussing those movies at all to be honest. As far as I'm concerned, they're all dead and gone, and good riddance.

I understand, and completly respect your choice to feel that way my friend!

That was a zoo.

Why would the Joker have an emotional theme?

It should be cold and inhuman.

Well, I guess its about time I gave my input. Of course when I actually see the movie this may all change.

Likes:
-The Joker. Everything about him, his looks, his personality, everything.
-The mob subplot
-The fake Batmen
-Harvey Dent
-The epic feel of the movie

Dislikes:
-The name of the Batpod, and the use of the name in the movie, not the actual bike
-Recasting Rachel Dawes (I think Maggie will be a great improvement, its just that recasting characters is a huge pet peeve of mine)
-Lack of bats (However, just because they haven't been featured in any of the advertising doesn't mean they won't be in the movie)
-The look of Bruce's garage

I'm not a big fan of them actually calling it the batpod either. I'm thinking/hoping that is something Alfred does to annoy Bruce and is intentionally meant to be silly. And I'm thinking that the term "pod" rather than cycle is because, as much as I refuse to believe this is the reason, the bike is an escape pod from the tumbler.

I dont think so man. Its probably gonna be called the batpod :csad:

LIKES:

The Joker

Dislikes:

The action so far, come on it's 2008, get creative and do something about it.
Lack of fighting.

Stupid Humor.

Blue filter, I don't want another live free or die hard crap, stick with the batman begins filter.

The fact that harvey dent is the backbone of the film.

The fact they won't explore that Bruce Wayne and Harvey dent are friends

Same stupid fighting choreography.

I hope they don't talk much, and of the looks of it, they do.

Nolan need to learn how to maintain the balance of good story telling with great action sequences, seriously, there's plenty of films that does that successfully. Nolan is just a lame action director, it is his weak point, and I don't care how visually stunning some of the scenes might sound on paper, if you don't have the creativity to make it onto the big screen, then your pretty much damaging the foundation....

Before some of you starts rattling my cage, listen carefully, we don't know much about the film, and besides, I am still going to watch it regardless, however the pressure is on bigtime....

The whole coming out of the tumbler thing started so many arguments back in the day here :cwink: Some people still don't want to believe it! I'm betting on it. It's exactly the sort of gimmicky thing they would do in a summer blockbuster to sell kids more bat-toys.

It doesn't mean everyone felt that bats were way overused. And you would have to agree that you can't...no matter how realistic you (or a director) thinks they can ground Batman in...exclude bats from Bruce Wayne's reality. Sorry...but its just not Batman without actual bats.:batty:
:batty: :batty:

So...you've seen the movie...you sound so sure about yourself....or maybe you haven't seen the IMAX Opener. gtfo.
