Interesting to note that mutants are becoming extinct even after the "fixed" events of DoFP.. It does seem like the rest of the X-Men are gone otherwise they'd take care of Xavier :csad:

I think Logan killed some of them. Oh god if this is true.

This looks amazing. I dig the dark and serious tone. Hurt by Johny Cash works so well with the trailer.

How can they botch the momentum from DOFP like this first XA now this
so everyone is dead AGAIN long time x-men fan and it's depressing to think how good it could be but not at it's current state

This film will probably have quite a gloomy emotionally depressing feel through out.

Seeing Xavier with a gun to his head while something was happening to him made me feel abit uncomfortable.

As long as Logan is not pining for Jean I'm okay with it.

well based on this i feel it is almost designed to be final chapter of franchise:csad:

I feel based on this neither wolverine nor Xavier will make it to credits.

considering how X-23 took wolverine's place In comics I feel she is In film to
help the transition from X-men to X-force and for X-23 to take a wolverine
like role In X-force under Deadpool and Cable.

I also feel like it's possable X-men are dead except for wolverine and xavier
when film opens and by end of film all X-men will be gone making way for X-force :csad:

I'm down for this. I can see fans being disappointed by this trailer...and maybe even this movie but this looks like the Wolverine movie Mangold always wanted to make. A dark, noir western starring Logan. Essentially Unforgiven or No Country For Old Men meets X-Men.

There are definitely risks being taken with this franchise, although i think the fear is that they ain't thinking ahead with these risks and they are more just of the moment decisions.

It seems like they care about the single movies and letting their directors tell the story they want more. And in the age of the 'movie universes' I really appreciate that.

That you've still got 'comic book movies' which stand on its own, and go all out, instead of always limiting themselves in order to fit the bigger picture.

I'm glad we got a movie like Deadpool. And I'm glad we get a movie like Logan. And that they're not just 'extensions,' but have their own DNA.

Kudos to 20th Century Fox! :hmr:

Which I would find ironic, considering that many of Wolverine's stand-alone stories in the comics share the same atmosphere and the same gritty nature.

Exactly.

Has there been any confirmation or info as to how far into the future this takes place from when we last saw LOGAN and the new future in DAYS OF FUTURE PAST?

As for the trailer, tissues will be mandatory come March 3rd. I can already tell.

I think Logan killed some of them. Oh god if this is true.

Either that or Sabretooth in flashback perhaps, Liev Schrieber is rumoured to be returning. That would make it really emotional.

Surprised by how much heart there looks to be in this. Definitely think Xavier and Logan will be killed off.

I am really starting to think Fox has decered to laregly scrap X-Men and focus on X-force.Deadpool will be new wolverine.X-23 is probally going to be only
link between X-men and X-force due to interaction In this with Wolverine
and Xavier.obviously they are still doing new mutants but since it's still
being rewritten it might even have it's setting changed from past to present.

Patrick Stewart's comments of saying logan probally being his last film as xavier but you never know make sense now.Xavier is buying it In Logan but there is possibilty of him being In new mutants which will be set obviously before events of logan and ending of DOFP.

This realky looks like a film where Mangold and Hugh really get the opportunity to explore things creatively and take chances like a graphic novel could. It doesn't "feel" like an X-Men movie at all. It feels grimy. It feels dirty, and I like it.

The trailer for Logan is so awesome, but it bums me out. The end of Days of Future Past was such a good happy ending for Wolverine and the rest of the X-Men. Now it looks like everyone else is possibly dead and everythings gone to hell.

And wasn't the end of DOFP already in the future? Logan takes place in 2024 so somehow in a very short time Wolverine has gone from being basically immortal like he has been for over a hundred years to being in just terrible shape. I don't get that?

And is Nathaniel Essex not even Mr. Sinister yet? Are we never going to get to see Mr. Sinister? Is New Mutants going to be set in the same universe and take place after Wolverine so possibly they would be taking on Sinister?

If this movie sucks I will be seriously mad. I nearly cried watching this trailer. Those merciless bastards.

Fantastic!!! Feels so genuine and gritty and serious and full of heart.

Mangold iobviously wanted a gloomy future for the setting.

Itz possible though that the wrap was wrong about the date, we will just have to wait for further confirmation

Why not just look forward to and enjoy this movie, instead of worrying how it's going to affect future movies, which we know nothing about?

Everything's so future- and continuity-based these days. You barely have the teaser for a movie, and the discussion shifts to how the movies released in 2020 are going to be like.

It's set one year after DoFP

Unless any dates are mentioned in the actual Movie, I'll pretend it's been more than a year. Xavier alone looks like he aged at least 10 years.
