I mean, I adore the original cast and wish they got a happier ending than this, but I can't lie it will be pretty cool if they managed to gather them all in secret to film that scene.

Today I find myself thinking about how crappy Logan's life has been.

- Born into pain and violence, witnesses his father killed, then mistakenly kills his real father.
- A tool of war for over a century, a science experiment and amnesiac for the next 30 years. Betrayed by his first love.
- A hero hated for being different for the next 15. Betrayed by another love, who he then kills.
- Witnesses the end of the world and his own kind. Goes back in time to fix it. Only to become a science experiment and amnesiac once again.
- Wakes up in his older self (replacing his other consciousness entirely) to find the woman he loves is with another man.
- Witnesses the end of his species once again and will probably die to protect a child he barely knows.

TLDR: Logan lives 200 years in two different timelines where he is never allowed to know love, nor himself, nor the salvation of his species.

Well there are several things to concider...

1. Would the original cast agree to likely really small cameos just to be killed off in a flashback?

2. Would they bother paying for the cast to come back for death cameos

3. We already had logan haunted by killing jean in the wolverine so wouldn't this end up being similar?

4. Would Xavier be ok with wolverine after that? and if we go by the idea he doesn't know about it till later then wouldn't that sour that relationship for logans last movie?

Could the X-Men be dead? it looks abit likely based on the trailer but i think it would also be abit stupid to end his run having killed everyone.

I have a feeling that the general audience would find it pretty hard to empathize with a Wolverine who has personally slaughtered all freaking mutantkind. I know I would.

Exactly. I'm thinking we haven't seen anything from the 3rd act. Because I think Logan will have his classic look come the 3rd act. Hugh had mutton chops & a buzz cut during filming, but he didn't have the buzz cut & chops at the beginning of filming.

Remember, Hugh tweeted photos of himself with a buzz cut and bushy mutton chops. I don't think we've seen anything from the third act. I think come the third act, he'll have adopted his signature mutton chops, but with a buzz cut.

Also, Hugh had the full beard and longer hair early in production. He tweeted photos of himself working out early in production working out with full beard and hair. Then later tweeted other photos of himself with buzz cut and chops.

So glad logan and xavier seem ok about that in the trailer, logan holding no resentment towards charles and charles holds no resentment towards the X-Men dying at his hands while he is in the presence of him again with a little girl.

We can make a dozen excuses for how all this could work but all these excuses are more to give a reason why they can do this dark edgy stuff from the comics rather than if it would make sense or even be a good idea.

Is it really so far fetched that a mutant loses control over its powers when he or she is getting very old? Mutants normally do not age in the comic universe but what would happen to mutants when they become very old? Alzheimer is a horrible disease and how would a disease like this influence a powerful being like Xavier who always needs to stay in control? I do not think it is an "excuse" but an interesting (very sad) idea.

Why should Xavier even remember his past actions? We do not know how senile Xavier really is in this movie. Maybe Logan is not telling him the truth about the accident that happened at the institute because he wants to protect him and he knows that this memory would completely destroy Xavier. If it was clearly a horrible accident why should their be any resentment towards a very old and fragile Xavier?

So Xavier may not remember his actions but you would think logan wouldn't wanna be around Xavier then, even more so around a little girl, or would there be another plot element to stop that happening this time?

Also I'm not sure I've seen any comments on that here, but I love, Love, LOVE the fact that his dog tags say Logan. We've seen the dog tags with Wolverine play a role in Origins/X1/X2 with Rogue, Sabretooth, and Logan himself. But now thanks to Jean's help in Apocalypse he remembers the name Logan and got different dog tags. I just think that's amazing.

Edit: Oh and I also love how the water tank with the bullet holes kinda resembles Cerebro. I think that is intentional as well given how big of a role Cerebro (and his powers) play in Charles' life.
