Fox isn't shying away from violence as long as it brings money. So far it was only Deadpool (and what a success). If Logan is another success, maybe it will be Fox's thing. R-rated comic book movies.

And Kingsman as well, also from Fox. Sequel is coming out 2017.

Yep. Now there's also Alien: Covenant, which is described as extremely violent. Considering how PG-13 was forced on larger movies in the past decade or so, people began to feel hunger for blood. Someone had to take advantage of that. Flaw of Disney, but they can't really complain, because they make so much money with their family stuff.

So my reliable source just confirmed Logan takes place in 2029, which is 6 years after the future ending of DOFP.

I think that puts Xavier at like 95 years old.

More palatable than a year after DOFP ending but still hoping "Mutants, they're no more" is just Logan going by rumors and nothing more.

mmmmh, so who's fault is it that there are no mutants anymore? We had all different scenarios in the comic books why mutants became a endangered species: legacy virus? Wanda (M-Day)? A Cure (ultimate x-men's storyline was probably the most extreme version of that)? Sentinel attack? Mr. Sinister? Terrigen Bomb? etc. etc. etc.

I think, the cure from X3 mutated into a virus would be an interesting idea that stays nicely within the logic of the series. And it would not be too complex for casual audiences not to understand it explained with a few sentences: 'The government introduced a cure for mutants in the mid-2000s and this serum mutated on its own into a virus attacking all mutants.'

A virus and a hunt for remaining mutants is probably the best scenario. It would explain weakened powers of the Wolverine.

I can't see mutants being hunted as it seems to similar to the sentinel stuff so it probably will end up being a virus and its probably gonna be X23 either with the cure for it or being the cure for it which is what those army guys are trying to catch her for.

Deathstrike should be in this movie. Its has the Reavers after all.

That would be pretty much The Last of Us.

Lol I doubt Mangold even knows what the last of us is. Doesn't seem like someone who would own a ps3.

Glad to hear the positive reactions. I've had a feeling this might be "The One" for Wolverine & Jackman for a while now.

The Predator will also be R-rated, Feb 2018.

I think some take on the Legacy virus would be nice. Maybe combine it with the Techno-Organic Virus since they're going with the Reavers who are cyborgs anyway.

A very positive impression from birthmoviesdeath, which is saying something considering that whole site is anti fox and hates the x-men franchise.

Birthmoviesdeath don't hate Xmen films. Its just that pervert Faraci that hates them. With him gone there will be less bias on the site and there will be fair treatment in their coverage for the xmen films and the DCEU.

Yeah, it was just Devin.

I hope it feels as a more stand-alone movie. No edit-ins of flashbacks from previous films.

Doctor Strange's director's opinion on the first 40 minutes of LOGAN.

During the BNAT event Mangold mentioned that Hugh Jackman accepted a paycut in order for Logan to get an R rating.

Good guy Hugh!

I think fellow director's opinion shouldn't be taken into account, they're usually very supportive of each other. Hence Patty Jenkins word about Suicide Squad and so on. But press folk give me hope.

And yeah, thanks to Hugh for supporting R-rated movies. I even think he wasn't satisfied by previous entries and felt responsibility to please fans.

Jenkins is involved with the DCEU so that is to be expected.
