Birthmoviesdeath don't hate Xmen films. Its just that pervert Faraci that hates them. With him gone there will be less bias on the site and there will be fair treatment in their coverage for the xmen films and the DCEU.

lol I remember when he said that Apocalypse didn't touch on the destruction. Even though that was one of the last things the characters talked about at the end.

Jenkins is involved with the DCEU so that is to be expected.
I don't remember when a fellow director dismissed a movie prior to it's release. If there are cases like that, I'd like to see them.

Jackman taking paycut is probally why they were able to get logan made for 127 million.

at site it has comment from mangold that will fuel talk of other X-men making cameos.

so many false dawns with Wolverine. Each time, he's going to be the savage, rage fueled Wolverine from the comics. This feedback sounds encouraging though.

why does a movie about Wolverine have to cost 127 million anyway? I really do not get these high movie budgets...

The studio wanted authenticity, so all the money went to actually grafting adamantium throughout Hugh Jackman's body and then removing it once the film finished shooting.

That is actually a fairly reasonable budget.

The Revenant was shot for about 10 million less iirc (though that had a myriad of production issues due to the nature of its filming process) so it's probably just the cost of shooting on location and action scenes that make it end up being that amount. Still, it's around the same as the previous Wolverine so it's pretty reasonable.

Nice to read even more nice reviews.

Oddly wasn't The Wolverine made for the same budget and Jackman was paid 20 million for it? 127 million is actually more then enough when you compare it to deadpools budget.

Yeah but he also fued it with what seemed like coy comments on Twitter also but in the long run how do you explain wolverine looking after Xavier on a limo job salary with no X-men around to help or apparently care?

Did he get custody of xavier in court or something?

Chances are mangold is just being coy because someone asked if there is a "chance" and he said yeah there is a "chance", because there is always a "chance" of anything.

I only want to see Rogue. Wolverine and Rogue started the franchise together in X1. I think it would be great to see them both together for the last time.

remember r rating is gamble and unlike the wolverine this iflm is shot in US.
so i can see jackman taking less money in order to get r rating and shoot In US.

as for other X-Men by sound of film kind of hard for them to be used although you can't 100% rule it out.

I take the view jackman's last film should have been full X-Men film.he started with full X_Men film he should have gone out with one.

It still has an over 100 mil budget though for a film that claims to be more grounded and gritty, its a gamble but its still got a pretty decent budget for such a gamble.

unless the budget is actually much smaller then what we know of.

It doesn't even look like a high budgeted film. It looks like an indie film. Arrival cost less than 50 million dollars and it looks more expensive than this.

To be fair, Derrickson volunteered his opinion unprovoked and he basically works for "The Competition". He could have just not said anything, so "f***ing fantastic" seems like a genuine reaction.

As was pointed out Jenkins is part of the DCCU, so she isn't going to say anything else really.

Judging by descriptions, it will have plenty of action, stunt work and so on. That's where money go. Promos didn't show any of that yet.

and let's not pretend that Mangold's "The Wolverine" was not already an amazing Wolverine movie (if you turn the movie off right after Logan fights the group of Ninjas...).

I hope Derrickson's opinion reflect the quality of the movie. And it's not just him being polite or supportive. I love the premise, I love justified violence in movies and I love post-apocalyptic stuff. I hope the movie ends up being one of the greatest CBMs.

Well Mangold said its not post-apocalyptic its just a different futuristic world.

Wasn't really a fan of Dr. Strange so I don't really regard his opinion above many others though it's something.

Anyways Mangold's "it's not a post-apocalyptic" movie reads to me like Logan is talking out of his arse when he says "Mutants, they're gone."

It doesn't have to be the end of the world for mutants to go extinct, though.
