Well FC was likely heavily focused on Magneto even when Singer was involved as some of the magneto solo script went into it while vaughn came onboard and was likely just as happy to be given the chance to tell that story.

Alot of directors don't come onboard just to be fanboys, their job is to translate a medium with what they have in the most interesting way they see possible, thats first and foremost what they do.

Anyway back to Logan.

I wonder if Elizabeth Rodriguez is going to be Laura's mum? Still hoping Kimura is in this.

Hnnnnnnnnnnnngggg

He is never called Bolivar in X3. Not even in the credits.

Why are you even trying to defend this stuff?

It's becoming pretty obvious from recent official comments that these are more like standalone director-driven movies than an interconnected series.

Mangold admitted these films are unco-ordinated, hence two Calibans, and then Jackman says Logan is not really in the same universe as the other films. We can see the X-Men now mythologised into some sort of comic book, although Mangold was then scrambling to point out on Twitter that Logan is just beyond the DoFP ending (in a hasty damage limitation exercise). As I predicted, the wonky timeline/continuity will be a thing for people to moan about beyond the intensity of fan forums like this.

There is no Feige figure holding it all together. Directors just do what they want.

On the positive side, this re-doing of already existing elements got us a perfect Deadpool and a better Emma Frost (though she was then killed off), and the new Caliban is more comic-accurate than the one in XM:A .

But let's not pretend there is any overall plan here, lol...

Logan Director Clarifies Hugh Jackman's X-Men Continuity Statement

Thought people hated that Emma Frost. She looked the part, that's about it.

This is down to appearance again?

I've seen the Twitter comments and already mentioned them.

More accurate than the Origins version. Most of the other criticisms were down to the writing, Vaughn wanted her to be cool and aloof and a henchwoman, though we could do better I agree. Third time lucky, eh?

That's all we have to go on at the moment. But the XM:A version didn't appear to have the mutant tracking power, he was just an information broker. Very good actor in a limited role though. It remains to be seen if the Logan version is an overall improvement.

I linked the source for everyone else.

Writing and performance last I checked.
For the third attempt, they should go all out on her clones.

I assumed the tracking ability is why he was an information broker.

Wasn't it all those psychics he had in the room who were gathering the information?

We saw no evidence he had any mutant power, though he did have weird eyes... The only thing I remember seeing was psychics who seemed to be 'scanning' for something...

He tracks them or locates their presence.
The psychics would obviously identify who they are and relay that back to him.
Like a makeshift cerebro.

The film never made any of that clear.

Singer trying to be subtle or vague again?

Just a hunch. Movies are still meant to be interpreted as much as we here enjoy taking things literally.
He knew where Lensherr was (no mention if the psychics located him or some other outside force), possibly arbitrarily asks where Nightcrawler's headed, and asks how Storm "I knew I felt a chill in the air" got inside his compound.
Though, for we all also understand, he's just the "Wizard of Oz".

I'd assume in Logan, he's more like a bloodhound or else he wouldn't be caged *shrug*

I did, too.

But we assume that because we know the character.

Casual audiences saw a man with weird eyes and a filing system. It was Psylocke who said she knew where Apocalypse could find the mutants he wanted.

Making a big impression in the film is the girl known only as Laura (Dafne Keen), aka X-23, seen in our exclusive pics with her claws out. In one intense scene, as Jackman recalled to us, Logan loses his temper at Laura. “I just yelled, ‘SHUT THE **** UP!’” Jackman says. “At the end of 40 minutes of this I went up to Maria, Dafne’s mum, and I said, ‘Maria, I’ve got an 11-year-old and I’m just really sorry.’ Maria said, ‘Aw, don’t worry, she just called you a ****. In Spanish.’”

A funny story between Hugh and Dafne from filming from the Empire article that was released today.

I was really impressed by Dafne Keen so far. She's spot on.

Hugh Jackman has an 11 year old? Huh... you learn something new everyday.

Bet Elise O'Neal is going to be playing Kimura.

In some of the articles discussing the first act, Pierce asks for the "tracker" after our leads get away, which is probably Kimura
