So like the Dark knight all they have to do is get the costumes accurate and do what they want with the rest?

I don't think you understand how the human brain works. Especially when it comes to things like X-Men movies where its majority Caucasian characters all wearing black suits that look the same.

Its hard for fans to get attached to their look and remember what differentiates one from the next.


Everything about X-Men in films has been stripped to make more american and stale

Power Levels for females (because unless evil they have to be weaker then men)
Individual Costumes
Lip service to mlk & x. But no major roles for non Caucasian characters

Side note: I really, really hope we get to see more of this young X-men cast somehow, someway. Its a really charming cast and I think could make for a great X-men movie.

We'll get there. Hollywood is just now finding out that we want black characters to be played by blacks, asians by asians, hispanics by hispanics, natives by natives ect.

We're lucky this is the comic book genre and doubly so for X-Men. We'll get there, because it's been a part comics' DNA ever since Superman beat the crap out of the KKK in a radio show back in the 1940's.

DOFP was i guess Stewart's real sony sony just like the apocalypse cameo was final for jackman in a canon X-Men film.

Welp, that's disappointing but at least they're no longer pretending.

I just wished Hugh didn't open his big mouth. This puts a damper on the very good buzz Logan has been getting up to this point.

& with this news outside of Deadpool I am done supporting FOX MARVEL movies until X-Men is completely rebooted may Logan crash & burn at the Box Office

LOL really? Considering that Deadpool film was just as guilty of continuity errors and overall retconning of a lot of elements of previous X-men films.

You should probably take it up with Hugh since he's the one that's adding to the confusion by what he actually said in the interview.

What he said can still be taken out of context since both mangold and jackman have said they wanted a blank slate to work with but at the same time mangold also said he only set in 2029 because he wanted enough time inbetween DOFP to Logan so he would have a fresh template to play with.

I am willing to bet its just in the context of jackman trying to describe how different logan is to the other movies.

It's real simple for me. The X-Men timelines are all based on the "real" exploits from Logan's timeline.

What's so hard to follow? If X-23 exists in Logan's timeline, which she clearly does, then there will be "comics" written about her too adding her to the DOFP/XU universes.

It's not that complicated to grasp and it's not a terrible idea because it gives Hugh and Mangold enough room to do their thing.

They'll also probably reference Apocalypse's events with Logan's different dog tag and his escape from Alkali Lake leading to his blood being taken for cloning as well. So yeah, not that hard of a concept to grasp. It's just set further down the line where they can do whatever they want.

well now i can just pretend before reynolds and deadpool writers decide to say it that deadpool and X-force isn't in same universe as X_Men films.they view X-Men as one big joke anyway.That is why i wasn't as thrilled with colossus In Deadpool as others.he was just a joke and punching bag for the villains.at least now none of deaths In Logan will
matter for future films In franchise which for me are X-Men:Supernove,new mutants,and if it gets made gambit.

That's not at all what he said. He said "...slightly different universe..."

He never once mentions any of the movies.

And when you read the rest of his quote, I think it's apparent he's not talking about the "X-Men Movie Universe." He's talking about the tone and feel of the movie being SO MUCH different than the typical X-Men movie.

I promise you, it will be the same movie-verse. Possibly a different timeline, but same universe, nonetheless.

^Also by "slightly different universe", pretty sure he's referring to the X-Men being celebrated heroes of some sort. That's the different paradigm (in addition to making the world real and ugly), which just merely expands on what DOFP/Apoc/DP have done in terms of making mutants more widespread.

In other more lighter news, Ryan has been sending Hugh cupcakes in order to get him to play Wolverine again.

But my question is then why can't we Reboot then. Why is X-MEN main films stuck with all the continuity but everyone else gets to do what they want Gambit, Deadpool, & Logan?

Yes they are taking it out of context. He pretty much just paraphrased what Mangold said before which was they set the film far enough in the future that they would have more wiggle room and wouldn't be beholden to the continuity Singer and Co. have planned.

They said similar things before The Wolverine released. That it was a stand alone film but we know that it was placed after X3 and acknowledged the events of X3. They just chose to place it in a time period that other films weren't making use of (all the other films were prequels except for the future portion of DoFP which was set in the distant future).
