Mystery/Thriller LOST - But Not Forgotten...Except by the Emmys - Part 1

The Lost Will And Testament Of Javier Grillo-Marxuach

Long read, but great nonetheless. Interesting revelations, especially that Paul Dini was the one who came up with the idea of the Black Rock being a shipwrecked vessel. Sometimes I forget that he was even a part of the show's writing staff.

Woah, that was very, very interesting. Pretty much how I already thought the writing worked in that show, but to read it from someone who worked this close, was a great read.

WHAT IN THE ****

Paul Dini worked on LOST? And I thought I knew everything about this show. I feel so disappointed in myself.

Thanks for that, Sawyer! I'm really interested in the process of writing and LOST is my favorite show! That was a great read! Reading that, I have even more of an appreciation on how they pulled the whole show off!

I'm about halfway through now. Thanks, Sawyer! Awesome read most definitely.

Today 's a cool day: 4-8-15 (date), plus at 16:32:45 ... someone will win the loto! And end up on a deserted island (guarding it) :p

Happy LOST day! :D

Just came here to say... I miss this show.

This show was legendary. The ending of it was a bit of a cop out but the rest of it was awesome.

Been watching this show for the first time in the past weeks and have finaly finished it.

What a road, enjoyed it even more than i expected. Even the finale i real enjoyed, even if i had some problems with it. [BLACKOUT]Jack being dead got me annoyed at first, but i accepted it and was somewhat fitting. Regarding Jacob and the Man in Black, i honestly wasn't a big fan of that part of the mythology, the origin episode left more questions to be answered and i didn't realy get how MiB became the monster. I also didn't see much of a point in him using Locke's appearance besides keeping the actor.[/BLACKOUT]

While there were many unanswared questions and unfinished storylines, i think Season 3 felt like a finale in a lot of places, as the conflict with the Others came to a logical conclusion and [BLACKOUT]they found a way to get out the island. [BLACKOUT]

That said, Seasons 4 and 5 might have been my favorites, they were shorter but more focused.

I probably missed something a character said, but i have 2 questions regarding the finale:

1. [BLACKOUT]How did "Evil Locke" die with a gunshot wound if bullets didn't do anything on him?[/BLACKOUT]
2. [BLACKOUT]Didn't the plane have some bombs placed by Widmore? They were set to explode if the engine was started, did the characters deactivate them? I don't realy remember that.[/BLACKOUT]

Regarding Evil Locke,

his immortality was coming from the heart/life force of the island. As long as the light at the heart of the island past the bamboo forest was on and the water was flowing he was immortal and couldn't be harmed. When Desmond turned off the water and the light Locke became as vulnerable as any normal person. That's why that bullet hurt him and the others didn't.

Christian is me.

I rewatched season 3 to 6 last month to the first week of April.

Yeah, great show!

I wish that concert was coming to my town. I don't think it's hyperbole to say Giacchino's work in this series is the greatest music ever done for television. The only other show I can think of that rivals it is Batman: The Animated Series.

Eh Ramin Djawadi's work on GOT eclipses Giacchino's work on Lost. But Giacchino's work on Lost is some damn fine work, no doubt.

I've been looking for a show to binge watch since I finished Daredevil season 2. I think it may be time to do a rewatch of LOST

I'm rewatching it right now, almost done with season 3. Still my favorite show. When I first watched it I think I was on the same train as many people who thought the show got a bit too crazy towards the end, but upon rewatching it I think some of the best stuff is in the last 3 seasons. S1, S2 and S3 all have some filler episodes and I remember the later seasons being shorter and perhaps a bit more focused.

Did they ever. The Rose and Bernard and Nikki and Paulo episodes were torture, and let's not forget the one where we found out the meaning of Jack's tattoo. IIRC, I think that was the point where Cuse and Lindelof went, "Yeah, we need to set an end date."

I liked the centric episode for Rose/Bernard. While Expose felt random, it wasn't a bad episode at all and I thought it was unique.

But yeah the episode where Bai Ling was featured was not good.

Though I wish Charlotte got her own centric episode. And I wonder if Sawyer or Claire would have gotten their centric episode for season 4 if the writers' strike didn't happen.

Beyond a small flashback, we never really got one with Lapidus. I really wanted to know more about him.

And yeah, Exposé was filler, but done with extreme fun and attention to detail. That one maybe didn't add much to the overall storyline, but was very well done.

Just finished S3 again, and Through the Looking Glass is just so darn good. If I had to make a top3 it would probably be that one, The Constant and The End, but pretty much everything that goes down in TtLG is great. Finally seeing the radio tower, seeing the cool underwater station, the confrontation between the others and the gang at the beach (which we had waited for) but my favorite part is definitely the flash-forwards. It was so perfectly done where you totally bought that this was just a regular flashback, and then at the end when Kate is revealed and you find out this takes place afterwards... just so great.

I think overall Lost had really strong season closers, but Through the Looking Glass and that final flash-forward scene (when the twist is revealed) was the one that blew me away the most. "WE NEED TO GO BACK"
