Archer is also quite self referential though. They come back to jokes and characters again and again. If you don't like it the first time you'll probably not like it the second time around. Myself? It's always the most fun show I watch in a given week when it's on.

I liked that season as much as any other. It has mostly solid eps with a few not so funny ones like every season. I will say that certain things are dropped. For instance, as far as I remember there's no bionic Barry or Katja, and no continuing of the "Who's Archers father?" stuff. Of course that's made up for with Pam getting addicted to coke and thus losing weight and becoming a super stacked hot mess of a Ho' and Cheryl obsessing over Outlaw Country and a three part trip to Columbia where Archer and Cyril and Gillete are smuggling cocaine INTO the country. But I'm feeble and old so my opinion doesn't count anyway.

What's your take on the series as a whole? Did you ever watch SEALAB 2021 or FRISKY DINGO?

Anyways, although I thought it started off shaky, it's a really funny show with great characters, nice voice acting, and awesome stories and action. Oh, and the references are cool too.

Archer actually showing some kind of *****ey heart for Ruth, the old lady he met at chemo is touching in it's own way, and him going on a RAMPAGE while both medicated by the chemo and high made for hilarity. I love the Burt Reynolds episode to death, but then, I'm way older than you so I actually remember when Burt was a big deal. Seeing Ray's bro the pot farmer was also a great one, as was the train episode. Pirate King Archer is also high up there for me. The season before last where Ron and Archer have a day out adventure, another fave, and Archer's birthday car... Those are just off the top of my head.

I love all those episodes you just mentioned. And yeah, I get a little lost with all the Burt references. The only film I've seen starring Burt Reynolds was the Longest Yard remake.

You have to understand how HUGE a star Reynolds was back in the day. He was like Bruce Willis in his prime big. And he was in a lot of crap... And he was also in some amazing gems. To get a sense of him try the original THE LONGEST YARD (much more of a serious character film than a wild man comedy like the remake), WHITE LIGHTNING, DELIVERANCE (of course), CANNON BALL RUN, CANNON BALL RUN 2 (for the lulz man, the lulz) and if you don't mind musicals a personal fave of mine THE BEST LITTLE ****E HOUSE IN TEXAS. (Dolly Parton in her prime... NEED I SAY MORE?)

I finally overcame the month long writer's block I have had. Spent the night reading up on the origins of Hallowe'en. Have a stack of job applications to fill out tomorrow. I am slightly infuriated that Wordpress removed the feature to insert images into posts for one's page: I have a nice Annotated List of Easter Eggs from Death of the Family - with panel by panel comparisons-that is going nowhere, due to this revision.

It's not, but it's still great and worth watching. Even lesser Archer episodes are awesome.
