Robert Reed (Dad Brady) hated it too.

He was a trained Shakespearean actor who originally took the role as a struggling actor desperate for work and then to his chagrin got stuck as Brady for the rest of his life and beyond.

(He was also a closeted homosexual who didn't like kissing Florence Henderson, but I digress).

Supposedly about the only thing Reed enjoyed were the kids, to whom he was reportedly a real-life father figure and took on trips to Disneyland, etc.

The kid actors got sick of it too in later seasons because they felt their material didn't mature with their ages.
