I don't see myself as a feminist and yet I think women and men are equal. How is misslane gonna explain that?

Easily. Semantics. If "women are equal to men" = "feminism", then if you think so, you are a feminist without even knowing that, :funny: Even without calling youself a feminist, you are one if you meet all the requirements to be one, i.e. thinking "women are equal to men".

I'm talking about people on the internet who think this story "exposes" Whedon as a fake feminist or something.

If you believe the things his wife said that he did and said, its pretty incriminating. His own fansite closed, because of this. If and its an if, its true, he said and did some horrible things and I'm not talking about cheating.

Yeah, if it's more than cheating, he is, and should be, screwed. Where did he say he did horrible things that go beyond cheating?

Will you believe everything Whedon says against his ex-wife ?

If no, then same logic should be applied to whatever we hear coming from her side.

Whedon might be a feminist, but he's still a man and human, all too human. Other than our mothers, is there anyone out there who isn't a complete sack of contradictions and disappointments when put under the microscope?
Complete is a strong word, but contradiction and disappointment are unavoidable traits a lot of times for sure.

Agreed, but we're not only online, and not only talking about movies, but super-hero movies, so I'd say I actually went light on the hyperbole. :woot:

With women equal to men then those mothers are going to be amongst the sacks too lol.

Of all the "news" recently, the one about Ben pisses me off the most. He better be in The Batman. :cmad:

Yeah, if it's more than cheating, he is, and should be, screwed. Where did he say he did horrible things that go beyond cheating?

Fifteen years later, when he was done with our marriage and finally ready to tell the truth, he wrote me, “When I was running ‘Buffy,’ I was surrounded by beautiful, needy, aggressive young women. It felt like I had a disease, like something from a Greek myth. Suddenly I am a powerful producer and the world is laid out at my feet and I can’t touch it.” But he did touch it.

When he walked out of our marriage, and was trying to make “things seem less bewildering” to help me understand how he could have lied to me for so long, he said, “In many ways I was the HEIGHT of normal, in this culture. We’re taught to be providers and companions and at the same time, to conquer and acquire — specifically sexually — and I was pulling off both!”

Very true, which is why I said its a if.

Ofcourse none of this has an effect on JL, and its none of our business.

I saw a blurb the other day, I haven't kept up with it, but if it blossoms into a more damning story, then it's certainly going to have an affect on JL.

What are you talking about man?

Just rewatched the original Planet of the Apes, what a masterpiece.

You are talking about a blurb..which you say is more damning?

I didn't say the blurb I read was damning, but if it expands into something more serious than just Whedon being a womanizer, then it's absolutely going to affect JL
