Speaking of James Cameron, I just had one of the most cathartic experiences ever, I just saw the 3-D re-release Terminator 2. As a child of the 90's this was and still is one of my favorite movies of all time and I never got to see this in theaters because I was too young when it came out. And it remains, imo, one of the greatest MOVIES of all time. And for record, they did an AMAZING job with the 3-D in this, the depth, the effects, it looks beautiful. Definitely recommend seeing it, y'all.

Patty just responded to James:

James Cameron can wipe his million dollar smile with the WW logo, and you bastahs better say thank you. Thank ya, sir. May we have another? He can go up to Patty and give her a wink, while he sips on his coca cola.

Terminator 2 is one of the greatest sequels of all time.

And Al Pacino doesnt sound like he did in the 70s, his voice is shot post Scent of A Woman. Hurrah!

This is good PR amid Wonder Woman going back in theaters for this weekend. Lol.

Eh, another filmmaker had an opinion about a movie. Must twitter stay woke?

Shrugs.

To quote the big lebowski:

That is like his opinion, man.

Great PR tho!

Calls Wonder Woman a step backwards

“All of the self-congratulatory back-patting Hollywood’s been doing over ‘Wonder Woman’ has been so misguided,” Cameron told The Guardian. “She’s an objectified icon, and it’s just male Hollywood doing the same old thing! I’m not saying I didn’t like the movie, but to me, it’s a step backwards.”

Then proceeds to talk about how he does female characters better,

“Sarah Connor was not a beauty icon,” he said. “She was strong, she was troubled, she was a terrible mother and she earned the respect of the audience through pure grit. And to me, [the benefit of characters like Sarah] is so obvious. I mean, half the audience is female!”

“There are many women in power in Hollywood, and they do get to guide and shape what films get made,” he said. “I think — no, I can’t account for it. Because how many times do I have to demonstrate the same thing over again? I feel like I’m shouting in a wind tunnel!”

There must be some truth to it!

Eh, I can get where Cameron is coming from. I think I can at least. My biggest criticism of that film has always been the lack of consequences. Wondie is just always right. Even when it looks like she's wrong, she still ends up being right. I mean, I think it's good that women have that sorta representation in film, because men have been getting these kinda characters for years. And in a post-"Grab her by the *****." world, I'd say that's an important thing. As a film though, it just leaves a lot to be desired for me. I like to see my protagonists suffer and be wrong and see the ramifications of that wrongness.

I would not say she was objectified in the film though, but I can't tell if he meant the film specifically or the character overall.
Well, I wouldn't call not being able to save the love of her life because she was being stubborn and high on her own prophecy is "without consequence".

Eh, ain't like he got murdered. He made his own choice.

I don't get what Cameron is talking about, if male superheros are allowed to be good looking, why not women superheroes ?

And, I don't buy that WW movie was without any consequences.. she was certainly not portrayed as someone who never makes any mistakes, she was not shown as 'Mary Sue'.

I mean she killed the wrong person thinking he was Ares ! She failed to stop Ludendorf from firing those poison Gas rockets towards the village she just saved a day before, which resulted in the deaths of hundreds of small Town folks.

And in the third act, She failed to respond to Steve Trevor's request to help him stop the plane which was carrying a stockpile of poison gas weapons and was headed towards London. Had she helped Steve Trevor, the plane would not have been loaded with those weapons in the first place and Steve Trevor would not have to sacrifice himself. Sure, flying the plane was his choice, but had things happened differently he wouldn't have to make that choice.

WW is OVERRATED, and the praise is mostly for political reasons.

Thanks for spelling out the sentiment to this issue which was discussed awhile ago, I was too lazy to say it :oldrazz:

She lived 100 years without her love, that's not tough in Cameron's eyes.

old man Cam is so delusional that he called Terminator Genesis a renaissance of the franchise, just leave him alone.

For those who interested on what happened between BOF, Mark Hughes and Sean (Superhero News/Batman News)

What set it off

Mark spoke for the first time

Jett in damage control mode
https://***********/BATMANONFILM/status/900889782825476097

Kinda breaks my heart to see this though, Mark was the admin there when I was there (I'm just an member), and he told me off with 1000 words when I told people to check out Anne Hathaway on the motorbike in a spy picture =P

F***ing hell Jett, you pushed away 2 great staff members

Jett seems like a real piece of ****.

jett just mad cuz BOF use to be the go to site for batman movie news back in the day, but now batman-news has taken that spot.

and now one of his boys decided to work there.

it's business, shouldn't be making it personal like that. oh well.

these thangs are cyclical and he needs to grow up. dood is 50+ years old yo!

T1 is a beauty and a cult classic. T2 is an over-produced action sequel. It's certainly one of the better ones (I'll give it that); but repurposing the T800 from a mindless killing machine into a fatherly figure for that whiny little **** Ed Furlong was a goddamn mistake!
