I feel so out of the loop on this Popeye's thing. I've only eaten there once in my life, and I'm flabbergasted that a chicken place has never served chicken sandwiches before now.

I think Lucasfilm is going to see a boost in Dark Empire TPB sales.
Good... GOOOOOOD!

I think they may well have gone to that well. My hope... We get a reference to Thrawn as the original commanding officer of that ghost fleet of OT destroyers. Perhaps even a shot of him. Matt Smith?

Also... Yeah I'm a sucker for epic lightsaber fights and no one can tell me they aren't going for a subversion/parallel with the Rey and Kylo clash over water to mirror the Kenobi and Anakin fight over the lava. A fitting end for Kylo would be drowning IMO.

I'm not sure I've even SEEN one never mind eaten at one. :p

I havent read the latest Thrawn novel, but my impression of Thrawn so far is he isnt on board with Sidious and the Sith brand of lunacy. He and the Chiss thought the Empire could be an ally but Thrawn realized it wouldnt be a good ally as long as Sidious and Vader were running it.

I think Admiral Sloane would be a better fit as a commander of the Sith fleet. Plus, she was commanding the Imperial Remenant when it fled to the Unknown Regions.

Thrawn’s not as evil as Palpatine or Vader, but he’s still ultimately a fascist who has voiced disdain for the Old Republic style democracy and comes from a society that’s pretty damn shady itself. Plus, even though he voiced regret for doing it, he still fully planned to destroy Lothal in the finale of Rebels, so it’s not like the Imperial way of doing things truly disgusts him and he outright expresses deep respect for Vader in the last two Thrawn novels.

That said, I don’t think he’s involved in this movie. To me it always seemed like it was the anthology Star Wars films that acknowledged the rest of canon, and not the Episodic films.

My thoight are more towards Thrawn being the original commander of that lost fleet, which perhaps was sent to unknown space during the time of the Empire. The EU Thrawn was sent on a deep space mission probably due to his heritage, being a non-human. So he missed the fall of the Empire. In the original Thrawn trilogy the second novel is called Dark Force Rising and it is a reference to a lost fleet of dreadnaughts. Thrawn finds it and uses it to bolster his forces.

As possible nod to that I was thinking more of Thrawn in the new status canon as having been sent out with this fleet as some kind of back up by Palpatine which for whatever reason never was brought into play. Again it alludes to two elements in the EU just utilized differently for the new trilogy. I don't even think Thrawn should be alive in my scenario. Just a nod that he was the fleet's commanding officer, perhaps seeing him in an on board ship's log or some such.

In any case as @Roose Bolton pointed out chances for that are slim anyway, but as I said it would be a great allusion to old canon.

@flickchick85 .....If you haven't seen this, I really suggest you do. A fantastic performance from Annette Bening.

I hate Baker Mayfield... but Stone Cold is a champion.

This cat intimidates the **** out of me:

Imagine waking up with this thing sitting on your chest staring at you...

It's definitely lazy, since I made it like two years ago. This is also like the third time I've used it since.

It's too hot a day.

hot? you live in canada. come on down south boy... you can fry chicken on c.lees back and bake some tators on my tummy.

I'd sop up your sweet man sweat with a biscuit. It's almost pure beer anyway. I could hawk it on street corners.
