While at C2E2, Mike Colter addressed when season two will begin (and end) shooting:

Colter confirmed the news while at the Chicago Comics and Entertainment Expo on Sunday. He revealed that principal photography will start in June and that filming will wrap by March of 2018

Who do you guys hope plays Luke's father? I'm assuming we meet him this coming season.

Safe to say this will be a fall 2018 release then?

I would think so as well. But I'm confused why the shoot will be 9 months instead of 6. It should take June to November and then we see it debut maybe July 2018.

As I believe season 3 of DD starts filming this fall and be available for a Fall release.

I hope they give him someone to fight who is an actual threat to him. A superstrong guy fighting nothing but street thugs gets boring.

Bushmaster was rumored based on the casting call. He was actually the reason Power Man and Iron Fist teamed up in the first place.

If the Bushmasters become power master like they did in the comics then they will be a physical threat to Cage.

Looks like Claire Temple survives Defenders. There goes my theory about her dying to bring the team together. Guessing that Stick dies instead.

Lucy Liu spotted on set. Looks like she may be directing an episode while Elementary is in between seasons. Liu has directed a few tv show episodes.

very cool. Would be cool to see her as an actor but directing is just fine.

Nayibah Be was also cast as Tilda Johnson/Nightshade for the Black Panther movie. http://www.cbr.com/black-panther-nabiyah-be-nightshade/

Either Ms. Be was mistaken, Marvel TV and Marvel Studios are going with different versions (ala Night Nurse) or Feige and Loeb are officially discarding the Marvel Film-TV continuity that hasn't really existed since CA:TWS.

We have no idea if the character in the movie will even be named or the character on the show will be named. They can both be Nightshade without stepping on each others toes.

My main requirement for Nightshade is that she needs to be supermodel hot since she needs to wear a black bikini at some point. Gabrielle Dennis is absolutely attractive enough for the role.

And did Marvel seriously just pull a Tina Minoru again where two people are playing the same character? I'm guessing that Nightshade in Black Panther is going to be a very minor character and they'll edit her name out and keep her appearance an Easter egg. This is a bit more forgivable since Black Panther and Luke Cage both come out the same year and it sounds like miscommunication.

Worst case scenario is that Nightshade is named in Black Panther, is a major villain and gets visibly killed off. The show is going to wrap before Black Panther comes out and such a scenario involves extensive reshoots in post-production to retcon exactly how she survived and how/why she got recast (plastic surgery, possibly?).

The one in BP will probably be a minor character.

It's connected and in the same universe and that will not change.
I did a full MCU film binge before Civil War, and the last two Phase 2 films actually have subtle AoS connections that apparently went over everyone's heads. Nick Fury got the Helicarrier from "old friends". He's referring to Coulson. Not only do we see that in AoS, Coulson's also the only common friend of Fury and the Avengers that could have possibly hooked him up with one. Ant-Man also reveals to the film audience that Hydra is still around despite being"finished" in Ultron... except AoS viewers were already in on that thanks to the S2 finale. They're small connection, but they do exist (Fury's dialogue in particular really couldn't have been referring to anyone else).

There is more details and talk about mcu tv and mcu movies connections below.
Marvel movies and tv and dc tv and movies.
