It is expected to draw only 35 million this weekend.

WHAT IT NEEDS!

-Good word of mouth.

- Fan boys to go out and see it three or four times.

- It must make $450 million WW in order to get a possible greenlight for a sequel.

- The estimated cost of 200 million ( $150 million film and $50 million for marketing) must double to break even.

That total MUST AT LEAST be 400 million

We WOULD need another $50 million in order to get a POSSIBLE greenlight for a sequel.

If we get that $450 million the budget on the next film would be dropped to around 85-90 million vs the 150 million they had on this film.

GET OUT TO SEE IT AND PASS THE WORD

don't let your significant other talk you into Picture Perfect 2..........

That sounds about right. Hopefully it has low drops and good WOM and people keep seeing it multiple times. Good movies deserve it.

JWorld is in June, but we were talking about after that. I just remembered M:I-5, though. I do want to see that, and Man from U.N.C.L.E...maybe for slightly different reasons. ;)
I am hyped for Rogue Nation and Man from U.N.C.L.E.? Both look fantastic. :atp:

Next three weeks has Fury Road, Pitch Perfect 2 and Tomorrowland. My body can't take it. :funny:

My wallet's going to kill me. :funny:

If this underperforms or just performs fine (think BB numbers) hopefully its not my much and that TPTB look at the insane critical reaction it got and go ahead with another off that.

Its expected to bring in low 40's, I wouldn't be surprised if it does mid 50's, I hope it does mid 60's

I think this is going to do gang busters overseas. Asia and Down under in particular.

Miller is one of those old school directors that I truly love. I hope this is a box office hit.

Crom! I have never prayed to you before. I have no tongue for it. No one, not even you, will remember if I ever win an oscar or if Mel was a good men or bad. Why we fought, or why we died. All that matters is that today, Max stood against many singing ladies that sing awful in that one movie. That's what's important! My lisp pleases you, Crom; so grant me this one request. Grant me a box office hit for Mad Max! And if you do not listen, then to hell with you!

I got the chance to see a vehicle showcase and stunt show for this film about an hour and a half ago at the Sydney Opera House.

It was ******* amazeballs, and there were heaps of people.

This film is going to make lots of money, and going to kick so much arse.

Damnit to hell! My theater is only showing it in 3D on the 80' screen.:argh::cmad: Guess ill be watching this on one of the smaller screens.:(

:csad: Damn 3D. I'm stuck seeing it in 3D because it's the only time that works for me.

If this is as good as the reviews are saying this could very well have one of the biggest opening weekends down here for a local film. I think Crocodile Dundee still holds the record.

Just check my local theater and looks like they are gonna play it in the Cine Capri. (which only shows 2D)

Ive read some complaints that Max isnt really the focus of the film, that hes kind of the secondary protagonist to Charlize's character. Like the thrust of the movie is more her story than his. But isnt that how the last 2 Mad Max movies have been?

I might be misremembering since its been years since Ive seen the movies, but in the last two movies, hasnt Max been a guy that just so happens to get caught up in some other person(s) struggle that has nothing to do with him?

Anyway I cant wait to check it out.

Yes. This movie's plot is in line with the last couple of movies.

Tomorrow be the day for me. Working in the morning. Depending how it goes, it'll either be 1:40pm or 6:50pm.
