Mad Max: Fury Road - Part 2

I wonder if Fury Road will become the best reviewed film of the Summer and whether the audience will agree and make it a leggy hit. The trailers were excellent, I still think it will over perform this weekend.

Oh, it's certainly leggy. :sly:

I really hope this movie does well. Hardy is signed on for three sequels. Think about that ****.

Well Miller is 70, not sure he's got three more in him...
You never know though.

I haven't seen any of the previous films (I know, I know...I'm working on it). Is this a complete reboot or is it more of a sequel? Will watching the other three affect my enjoyment of this one?

Not really.

The Mad Max trilogy as it is is like the Dollars trilogy. In that they are stand alone movies which could be loosely interconnected if you want to do that but seem more like 3 different versions of the same legend. So Fury Road is just another Mad Max movie.

Clint Eastwood is in his 80's and just directed the most financially successful movie of his directorial career.

Yes in that you'll probably notice some of the smaller references and call-backs, but it stands on its own.

Which was a fluke IMO, but my thoughts about American Sniper aside...
Like I said you never know.

Just hook him up with a mask like Immortan Joe wears... that should keep him alive for the next 100 years.

I just hope he does not chain someone up in front of the camera while directing the movie.

The early reviews are raves man, straight up raves.

Trailers are fantastic. "The trailers do nothing for me."

Critics love it. "The critics don't matter".

If Mad Max makes legit money. "Well AoU and Furious 7 made more".

This is going to be fun. :funny:

20 fresh, 0 rotten. 9.2 average. :yay:

<waits for other rotten tomato threads to implode>

I was already interested in this movie. The fact that it is getting great reviews (the fact that the changed the embargo from Tue to Mon is a good sign) is an amazing bonus.

It's all so true.

I'll tell you this straight up, I'm not a Mad Max fan but the trailers coupled with the early raves make this film a must see. There are a lot of films that I wouldn't have seen without the critics positive reviews. Despite my jokes the critics are not useless, especially the 75% who aren't agenda driven.

Oh man, while I've been hopeful that this movie would be good, I gotta say that I'm actually really surprised that its getting such good reviews. I actually forgot that it's coming out this week. I'm super stoked!

Remember kids, reviews only count when they are good. :cwink:

Well I am a Mad Max fan, and they had me at the Comic-Con footage. I haven't seen a movie this kinetic in so long. But yeah, I don't get how anyone could see the trailers and now read these reviews, and not be at least intrigued. You give most things a fair chance, so I expect it from you SPIDEY.

And yep, I get the critics. I don't need to agree with each and everyone of them, to find them useful. As you said, the vast majority aren't agenda driven. They don't want comic book movies to die. They just want good ones. :yay:

Intresting reviews are saying george Miller's direction Is being praised as having the energy and vitiality of a young man's work.

The road warrior is considered one of best action films ever.

It seems they went the loose sequel route similar to pre2006 Bond so Tom Hardy can just step into max's shoes without getting into his past.

Little surprised at the reviews considering they came in pretty close to the release date. That's never a good sign, but I'm glad it's getting quite a lot of praise so far.
