Maine middle school to offer birth control

Wow, that's a nice wide polling group. You, AND everyone you know? are you sure you got that many people? Wow. I mean that's, what 20, maybe 50 people. I hope you didn't strain yourself asking that many people who you know share your values how they felt about abstinence, birth control, and what they were taught growing up. Wow, and you made it so diverse too. I'm impressed with your survey techniques. you've certainly put to bed any ideas I had to the contrary of what you were saying.

Go take a flying leap.

Geez, what kind of bug's up your ass?

:o

But haven't you heard? That's discriminatory and hateful. :)

Yes it is! When these biblical notions of right and wrong result in laws that limit my freedom to decide with whom how often and when I want to have sex, then god damn yes it is!

Statements like that are a direct result of the warped view of "tolerance". That term originally meant respecting a person's opinion, but not necessarily endorsing it. Nowadays, a lot of folks equal any opposition with automatic hatred. I don't hate or despise people with a pro-choice or free-love stance. I refuse to endorse their views, but I'm not going to hate them, either.

I've been listening to Ter talk about how sex is a right for 11 year old children to have. Abstinence is an abomination, and those who choose to adhere to it are insignificant. I'm getting a little tired. Ter refuses to face the fact that even with protection there is still a risk in having sex. It is potentially unhealthy, and there are sever emotional ramifications to having sex, especially at such a young age.

I have not said abstinence is an abomination. I said it's unpracticable and naive, that's all. If you want it nice for you but don't try to make it out as some golden standard becuase it never in the history of mankind worked, when not enforced through violence

Those who adher to it are, as a whole statistically insignifcant since they are not enough to have any representative power. Please don't confuse an statistic expression with moral judgement.

My personal views on abstinence. i consider it naive and antiquaited born out of idealized romantic notions with no ground in reality. however, if someone feels he wants to take that path, fine, knock yourself out.

As for that risks and problems. No, that is what YOU say but your word is not truth, in fact many scientists disagree with you on that issue.

A very intelligent man (Johann Wolfgang von Goethe) once said:

"The natural outcome of tolerance must be acceptance, everything else is an insult to human beings"

It's not like we're enforcing the bible as law. We do not hate you, and frankly, I could care less what you choose to do.

You're right. You have that choice, and guess who gave you the free will to do so? God. The odds of the universe being formed by a cosmic accident are 1 in 100,000,000 to the 123rd power. Whether you believe it or not, the existence of the cosmos (including this planet) is enough to prove God's existence. You want to disbelieve, hate, and have casual sex out of your own foolishness? Fine...but don't insult people who choose to follow God, or His rules.

I love this argument, this hilarious argument of folly. Do some actual research, dipstick, on the thoughts and scientific theories of the beginnings of the universe, why don'tcha?

Just because you choose not to believe in something, doesn't make it any less true or applicable. i never said stoning was right; I just said it was the custom in Biblical times. You may want to take notice of the fact that Christ Himself said, "Let he who has no sin cast the first stone". God doesn't condemn people for making mistakes, but He does honor their choices, be it for Him or against Him.

And, likewise, just because you choose to believe in something doesn't make it anymore true or applicable. It can go both ways, friend.

However, it is true that god "honours" their "choices." With fire. And pain. And torture.

Only if said children allow themselves to be condsumed by hatred or malice. If a child truly respects their parents, they'll trust their wisdom. It's the parents' job to raise kids properly, so they are deemed worthy of respect.

Are you even aware of what you're saying? Its not hatred or malice that makes kids do these things. Its what kids do. It's what they've always done, and always will do. It isn't because they don't respect their parents.

Geezus, I rue the day you get a girlfriend. There will be news stories about how she chopped you up into a thousand tiny peaces and scattered you on the highway.

No one's taking your freedom away; we're merely challenging society's present attitudes about right and wrong with regards to sex.

And Jesus wept.

When I do get a girlfriend, she and I will both be abstinent until our wedding, and proud of it.

You're keeping abstinent? Good for you.

Say, I'm gonna go microwave a bagel and have sex with it. Wanna join me?

Ha, you should try! The insugrency in Iraq would be kindergarten to the **** storm you people would reap if you ever tried!

As long as you keep your bible out of my live and I also mean out of legislation we can co-exist just fine. Oh and that is a rethorical statement, considering that I'm not american and religious nuts have no say in the society I come from and I'm thanksfull for that.

Good for them. 'bout time a school has the balls to do it

Word, someone needs to educate these kids about sex. If they're parents won't do it then the responsibility falls on someone else.

**** that!

Ok seriously, I do understand that is your decision and that's cool. Accidents can't happen that way and you will be safe.

But seriously, **** that!

Oh, trust me...I plan on having a short engagement. Probably something like this...

Me: "Will you marry me?"
Her: "Yes!"
Me: "When?"

:D

Maybe you should do it like in Iran, you know, express marriage for a short time so you can do the nasty and get divorced immediately afterwards. I heard they like to do this in brothrels there, they even got their own Imams in those establishments.:oldrazz: :woot:
