Guess I'm the odd one out, as I thought that trailer looked like a cross between Alice and Wonderland and Oz the Great and Powerful, which I wouldn't consider to be a good thing.

Jolie looks great as Maleficent, but Elle Fanning, who's normally great, seems horribly miscast here, imo.

You're definitely not the odd one out, since I didn't care for it as much as other Hypesters clearly do. OTOH,I wasn't impressed with most of OTGAP's trailers either, and that movie turned out more or less okay.

I really hope they find a way to do a Little Mermaid movie in the next few years since Ursula has an interesting backstory that deserves to be explored.

What a wonderful idea! Who would you cast as the lead?

I like the following choices...

Queen latifah
Rebel Wilson (not a great actress but good if they want a name brand and someone young)
Gabourey sidibe from precious and American horror story (my personal favourite who I think could actually do it)

Or the best option would be matt Lucas but I don't think Disney would be brave enough for a transvestite hero

Dini, right now, does NOT have a writing credit for this movie... and no, the IMDB thing is not accurate. The Grammy trailer says "Screenplay by Linda Woolverton"... no Dini in sight.

I don't know who thought Dini was working with Woolverton... as far as I know, Maleficent is Woolverton's doing.

Not sold on this movie completely yet, since I have the same vibe about this movie like I did for Snow White and the Huntsman, but the trailer isn't bad and Jolie seems perfect as Maleficient. I like Elle Fanning but for some reason she just seems miscast as Sleeping Beauty.
