Man From U.N.C.L.E movie

I hate to be Miss pessimism but after what I've seen I just always assume that Superman actor's careers are toast. He did get the lead in 300 er Immortals before Steel so maybe his career as a leading man will last a little longer than I think.

Well this movie might change that status quo for him if it's successful. Note how I said:

If the studios get a decent enough profit from the box offices domestically and internationally with a possible sequel on the way, on top of the DC Cinematic Universe movies Henry's going to be in, then all's well that end's well for him and he won't be like other Superman actors.

Plus he's got a decent sized fanbase yes?

I am definitely rooting him (and Hammer) on. I hope this movie does decently.

Yeah I don't for a second doubt that Cavill's gonna have a great career. He was already established way before Superman - maybe not a household name but established enough to hold a variety of roles, and be a leading man and have a fan base solid enough that they were pushing him as Superman for nearly 10 years!! The role of Supes is only gonna help him - it already has, he wouldn't have got UNCLE without it, then it's straight into MOS2... He's proved he can act, can do awesome action and sensitive stuff too - I would literally be staggered if he didn't have some serious longevity in terms of success.

Also, can't really ignore the way he looks when thinking about his future success. I have never, ever heard (or seen!) women react like they have with Cavill. Like I swear ALL women who know who is love him. The person I can compare it to most is the way most women are about David Beckham and even that has nothing on Cavill. My gf had a few friends over in the week just to watch MOS and I wish I could have recorded their comments to post here - I was only there for 5 mins but SERIOUSLY!!! t: Filthy...

Poor Cavill, just wanted to make a serious Superman movie and gets objectified by all these women. Must be a hard life for him!

But anyway, my point is that level of female hysteria is dynamite for a lot of directors and producers - the guy is gonna fill up those movie seats, even if they are all women!

Given how much the ladies seem to love Cavill, I'm a bit surprised that he hasn't been cast in more roles, especially given the way that movie studios have a tendency to try and ram hot young stars down everyone's throats with multiple films, like they attempted to do with Channing Tatum, Liam Hemsworth and Alex Pettyfer.

When you have a classic character that has been portrayed multiple times over the years and the most memorable performance came from Christopher Lambert, that might be a sign that it's a role you should avoid.

You guys have a point though as I touched on in my post, he was working before Superman even co-starring in a Television show so I can't see him falling down a dark hole like Routh did.

As much as I'd relish seeing Mr. Cavill in next to nothing for nearly an entire film I wouldn't wish Tarzan on many actors. Sorry but unless the budget is small I see a Tarzan film being about as successful as Johh Carter, The Shadow and The Phantom at the box office.

That ain't always true, there are lots of pretty boys who women obsesses over who have no careers basically.

But I agree Cavill is a different beast. He is the most fully formed ready made leading men in some time along with Hemsworth. Like literally an action/adventure film, stick Cavill in it and he would be at home. If his films do well, he should have a long a fruitful career.

Cavill, poor man, TRYING to sight see on an off day yesterday in Italy but still got photographed to death as we was trying to check out a church. What's of interest is that he was looking around in his workout gear and Gym Jones tweeted that Cavill was wearing their T Shirt.

I knew that he had done a side role in some Woody Allen film in 2009 because I am a huge fan of Allen so follow his films.

Then I am a huge of Tarsem, so from 2010 I was very ever aware of Cavill because he was doing the lead role (his first lead role) in Immortals. And after that in early 2011 he was announced as Superman and the rest is history.
