I also really hope this works out for Hammer. He's a good actor. Just been really s***y picking roles since The Social Network. Or at least all the roles he picks sound like slam dunks on paper but end up being crappy
I agree, Hammer is a good actor who has had the misfortune of playing in films that sounded like hits on paper. Who wouldn't play opposite Leo in a Clint Eastwood film, who wouldn't play opposite Johnny Depp in a gore Verbinski film?

This looks stylish.

Major props to the editing cause it made it seem more fun than the actual dialogue between them.

The opening car scene was cool.

I just watched the trailer with the classic Man From UNCLE theme playing over it. It looks cool. Like proper sixties cool. Maybe at some point I'll have to dub it over it and upload it.

This looks like a great time! I'm down for this and it's Guy Ritchie so I'm sure Cavill and Hammer's chemistry will be good throughout.

Nice, fun trailer, Henry is good in it, hopefully the movie will be decent at least.

I also like Armie Hammer, he's a funny guy, has a great voice and is a better actor than some want to give him credit for, I would not mind if he's cast for a DC movie. :word:

Good trailer, but I see no sign of the Cavill/Hammer shower scene I wrote and sent to Ritchie.

Screw you, you philistine! :argh:

The funny thing, at least to me, was that I wanted Hammer as Superman and Cavill as Batman.

"Okay Hal, I'll use my heat vision to cut a hole in Brainiac's worldship, and you fly in and ... okay, call me crazy, but this seems familiar."

"I have no idea what you're talking about."

He read your He-Man script and now considers you persona non grata.

WB have uploaded the trailer themselves. I guess if I uploaded a version of the trailer with the classic UNCLE theme dubbed over it, it would probably get taken down because of a copyright claim?

I am curious if there are any other posters that even remember the series well enough to nitpick the film once it comes out. My mom loved the show when she was young and I remember watching the series in reruns on cable but I have only the vaguest recollections of anything specific outside of THRUSH being the bad guys, the pen radio and that it was a big deal back then to have an American and a Russian working together.

I never heard of the show until I heard about the Clooney/Soderberg version

I don't think so. YouTube is full of tributes that use footage all the time. If you go there right now and put MAN OF STEEL with Williams theme into the search box you'll see quite a few recut, re dubbed trailers for MOS still up.

I'm sure there will be some who remember it, but probably a lot here on the Hype won't, as some probably don't even know what it is.

I've watched the feature films a number of times before and am pretty familiar. I'd say Cavill seems closer to Vaughn than Hammer does to McCallum.

Also, Alicia Vikander looks hot:

I do hope this becomes a franchise so that we actually seem Solo and Kuryakin as part of UNCLE for a whole film and not just showing how they first teamed up.

Ok thanks. Maybe tomorrow or so I'll see what I can upload. I just don't want to go to the trouble of it if it's just going to be removed.

It does look cool with the classic theme though. I'd probably do two versions: one with the Jerry Goldsmith orchestration and one with the Lalo Schiffrin orchestration.

BTW I really wish the official poster were more like the classic poster:

Or at least I wish it had that symbol in the background.

Just saw the trailer. Damn, Cavill looks charming as **** here. He is outdoing his Tudor self here. Love his accent here as well. All in all, looks like a lot more Ritchie fun. I am definitely excited.

I hope the film can sustain that fun breezy tone all through it's runtime.
