Brandon is appearing at DragonCon this weekend. His Dragoncon.org bio contains this:

In August 2008, Warner Bros. officially announced they intended to reboot the Superman franchise and take it in a "darker" direction due to the success of The Dark Knight. Routh is still set to reprise the role, according to DC Comics president Paul Levitz. In 2009, however, Routh's contract to play Superman in another film expired, but he says he would like to return if given the chance.

It's been brought up before (by me), but it appears to have been "updated" with the "says he would like to return if given the chance."

If anyone here is going to DragonCon, can you please ask Brandon about the Levitz line?

The Levitz information was correct.

Routh was WB's guy for Superman up until recently. There was a shakeup, DCE was formed, Nolan brought on, Robinov given the reigns... now things aren't so clear.

Yeah, I've been following everything on this front with ridiculous focus for years, it's just odd to me that the Levitz bit remains in Routh's bio.

I just hope that this weekend gleans some Brandon-related Super news...in other words, that talks have resumed between Routh and WB.

From "reliable source" gillberg2k1 posting over in the Nolan Reboot 3.0 thread:

Just wanted to pass on what I've heard... Warner Bros plan on announcing some details for both Batman and Superman together, much sooner than later. I'd expect to hear a title for Batman, Nolan's return officially confirmed with a brief synopsis along with some casting, along with an official title/date for Superman and of course, an official director announcement.

DragonCon is this (Labor Day) weekend in Atlanta...

...with Brandon Routh in attendance.

I'm tired of getting my hopes up, but...still.

I'll be going to Dragon Con this year. I didn't think they made announcements like that at Dcon. If they do, then that's awesome, especially since I'll be there this year. :D

Are you going to try to meet Brandon?

...and of course grill him about Superman?!

I don't know what I'm going to be doing there, it's my first trip down there. And no I'm not going to grill Brandon, why would you ever think that...:oldrazz:

I have nothing against him. :woot:

WB is well aware that constantly introducing new Superman actors weakens the brand. Welling is Clark Kent. Routh is Clark Kent. Now here's another one in 2012. It's not effective. It weakened the Batman series to have three actors in three movies from 1992 to 1997. I'm willing to bet WB is 50/50 over Routh returning.

my friend....the only reason i think why you made this comment in here, is either to piss someone off in here or because you are really bored.....either way.....go kick rocks buddy, ok? :whatever:

Dude, you're so badass. :whatever:

I think he said that because he wants you to ask him about superman:whatever:

From http://www.thesudburystar.com/ArticleDisplay.aspx?e=2744104:

In some other dimension, Bizarro World maybe, the latest Superman film starring Brandon Routh is coming at you in 3D as one of the summer's blockbusters.

In this one, Routh is left wondering what happened. "Almost $400 million. That's not bad for my first movie, right?" says Routh of the take for his Superman Returns, which was considered a box-office failure.

(He could be on whatever is the opposite of a roll. The Michael Cera film Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World, in which Routh played a villainous rocker with "Vegan" superpowers, was one of the season's flops).

But getting back to Superman... "It's been interesting," he says. "I have a great autobiography to write in a few years.

"I understand when people say it was expected to do seven, eight (hundred million), but it did just about as good as ( Batman Begins) and that got a sequel right away. But there's a lot more involved than just that. Big studio stuff."

He says no one has come out and told him he'll never be Superman again. He was even crossing his fingers for the DC Justice League Of America movie (that would have featured Superman and, among others, a Green Lantern played by rapper Common).

"They tried to get Justice League up and running, and I don't know what happened. I feel bad for the actors that were cast. I really don't know what the likelihood is I'll play Superman again, but I'm ready for either outcome."

As for Superman Returns, he says, "I'm still really happy with it. It may have its flaws, but a lot of people loved the movie."

Bring Routh Back!!!
