Wow, must be the hair or the relative small size of the photo, I totally didn't recognize her.

you know what,i alway's wanted M.E.W to play Mary Jane in the Spidey movies but since that franchise has totaly tanked she could be perfect for lois lane!!!!

Mary Elizabeth Winstead is so perfect for the role of Lois Lane and looks the part, and Anton Yelchin for Jimmy Olsen. (even Cera would be good.)

I've been touting Manganiello for Superman (if they go with a new actor) but now that Brandon has filled out more and looks more mature, I'd be more than happy if they kept him for the role also. I personally thought he did a great job and did the best he could with the script and story he was given. It was his first major acting role too, he has a bit more experience now.

As far as confusing the audience by putting the same actor in a new type of Superman film goes ................................. that excuse is lame and tired. People should be given more credit than being idiots.

The first 4 Batman films (from Burton, Schumacher etc) had 3 different actors play Batman - Michael Keaton, Val Kilmer and George Clooney. Viewers were able to get their head round that.

The James Bond films had numerous different actors but at one stage they had two 007 films (one with an older Sean Connery returning to the role, the other with Roger Moore continuing) on release at around the same time. Viewers were able to get their head round that.

That's just two examples - I'm just trying to make the point that the vast majority of movie-goers will not be that confused by keeping Brandon in the role whilst simultaneously trying a new approach to the Superman movies.

You can't read a single interview or article about Brandon Routh without hearing Superman mentioned somewhere. It's an iconic role and for the vast majority of Joe Public - who don't frequent forums like this and don't have any idea of the extensive list of potential Superman candidates us fans are throwing in the mix - Brandon Routh is Superman. It will actually be less confusing for them if he is kept in the role.

^^^ Agreed. I used to want someone new for the role, but i have yet to see anyone with a better look than Brandon. Also in re-watching the first season of Smallville, i noticed that Tom Welling's clark was a very likable person even though Tom wasn't the best actor. It was all about the personality and dialogue he was given.

I thought Brandon did a solid job as clark but just didn't have much to work with. I also enjoyed him on Chuck and if you compare his role on chuck with his role as clark you see to complete opposites, much like Superman vs Clark Kent. I don't think he'll ever win an Oscar but i think bad direction and a very limited script along with a limiting view of the character hurt his performance and the movie as a whole.

It's like they didn't want us to see him a someone with a personality in the film. If the new writers write something worthwhile and let the guy actually act, and craft his personality in a likable way, then i'm sure Brandon could pull it off quite nicely. Much like the early seasons of Smallville, i think he could portray a very likable character without necessarily being the best actor in the scene.

Also i think Brandon has a solid non-descript look for Superman, which is important. If the person playing Superman has very distinct features, like say a very distinct nose or lips, then it pretty much removes the idea of him hiding in plain sight. But if he has a somewhat generic look, he blends in better. Example, i really enjoy smallville, but Tom Welling has a very distinct look, particularly his nose. It's not a bad thing and not a big deal but the notion of someone not being able to recognize him is absurd when he has such recognizable features. It's like when a person witnesses a crime the sketch artist draws the person as described by the witness. They will ask questions like "what type of eyes did he have? what type of nose? Was it a roman nose, etc" It's the combination of distinct features that helps then identify the person. If actor playing Superman and Clark has very distinct features it find makes the illusion evaporate, at least in my mind.

All of that is just to say i think Brandon actually has a solid look for Superman and also lacks what i would consider very distinct features that would give him away.

I agree with all the points you two have said, couldn't have said that better.

Keiran could totally pull off Jimmy. And it should be the kind of Jimmy this article harkens back to. You know, like All Star Jimmy Olsen. That would be fantastic.

Keiran Culkin can be a good Jimmy Olsen.

Brandon Routh for Superman.

I'd be happy with Routh back, but it's not going to happen. From a marketing point alone it'd just be a nightmare.

I thought Superman Returns had numerous problems, but Routh wasn't one of them. I went into the movie expecting to not like him because I thought he looked too young, but he really won me over. I hate it for him that he ended up in what is considered a failed reboot by many fans (not all, I realize). I don't think it was his fault at all-- he did a very good job with his role.

Great manip MAN O STEEL.

I definitely second that!
