:woot::up:

Let's not get our hopes up yes, but, in casee he is back :woot:

Please don't get my hopes up :csad:

Oh I know exactly how you feel.. but it aint over until it's over, so we should at least continue with out support in every way we can please.

Brandon is just so perfect for this role in every way, imo, and he is also a fan and likes being Superman. Hope they give him another chance. Just give him a good script with lots of action and he'll deliver, no doubt in my mind.

Problem Harry Knolwes has lost it since some times, and as he say himself, Tull could have said to Routh to be in shape, if they decide to use him again..

Didn't Snyder just say that Routh returning "is unlikely"? I mean it's not a def no, so maybe he's not 100% gone. . .

AICN said Routh's fate is in Snyder's hands.

Snyder said Routh is unlikely.

I personally don't think Zack wants him back.

Well, Showtime, its pretty clear as Snyder himself stated that Routh won`t come back. As much as I love Routh, this is pointless. You should do your job and move this thread to the SR forum. If by some miracle he gets cast, then you can move it back here.

I loved Routh as Superman but its pretty official he WON`T back.

Well, SuperDaniel, how about C. Lee and I decide when the thread gets moved. So I should leave the thread here, and then I'll move it when C. Lee and I decide it's time to move it.

Meanwhile, you can do your job, which is continuing to be a poster that doesn't have a say on what thread goes where.

well, I'd personally want Routh to be given his chance. I mean it's not his fault that he was stuck with such a bad script, hell I still believe that the biggest reason why SR made as much as it did, wasn't because of the appeal of the film, but because of what Routh brought to his limited role as Superman.

Imagine what he'd be able to do if he could flesh out Clark.

Plus, it's very hard these days to find an actor who:

1. Knows about the comics in regards to Superman's mythology

2. Has a sincere respect for the character

3. Carries himself well in is personal life from what we've seen and heard

4. Looks and sounds the part

5. Right Height.

I mean hell, if studios are going for having Reynolds and Evans play multiple comic book characters, then why not take it a step further by reusing the same actor from a film that ppl wouldn't remember as much?

I mean, plus Smallville is already using the SR costume and trying to establish it as it's own for their own fictional universe.

His performance in Chuck cemented my opinion of his ability as an actor. Meaning he really isn't that good of an actor. There was virtually no difference between good Shaw and evil Shaw, until maybe the season 3 finale when he and Chuck went at it in the Buy More. Oh, and here's Routh in the Chuck gag reel. Watch the first 10 seconds of it and maybe you'll see what I'm talking about. :)

But Brandon Routh is still a very handsome fellow, with a nice personality to boot. He wouldn't be the first guy nor the last in Hollywood to turn those qualities into a very successful acting career.

I'd personally want Routh to be given his chance.
Once again, he already had his shot.

Didn't he go rogue around episode 12 or 13 or something?

He wasn't full-on evil then though. He was more conflicted.

In the finale he played Shaw as a complete cocky jerk who embraced being a dick.

He killed Scott Bakula with no remorse and came off almost sadistic. The show never really explained why.

I still don't understand the character shift. He seemed genuinely in love with his dead wife:

But he was a Ring agent the whole time?

Maybe he doesn't have to act for the role. he is just ,,, naturally fit to the role!!! seriously since the casting war back to 1998; nicolas cage's time, brandon is still the best till now. (though he still can't match to reeve)

but BBB!!!

or u better give me equelly or better guy!

I loved Brandon on Chuck. He played the straight guy. He gave a very nuanced, subtle and deadpanish performance. But there was always a dark edge to his character. And the music emphasized it.

I liked the shifts in his character throughout the season. First he was this cold, very professional and controversial spy in the the first episodes obsessed with destroying the Ring for the death of his wife mainly, lol. Then he fell a little bit for Sarah and tried to start a new life with her until he learned that the woman he was involved with was the killer of his wife. And worse, the order was given by the same institution he was working for: the CIA.

He then turned. He was still conflicted on it, which was clearly shown in the Other Guy episode (superb ep, btw). Then Chuck killed him, but he was revived by the Ring. And he returned completely evil and on revenge mode. He had nothing to lose anymore and he didn't care. He just wanted to punish all of those who stood in his way. Like the showrunners said, he was the Two Face of the Chuck universe. He was always going to become Chuck's arch nemesis. The writing wasn't always great, but it worked overall for me. He is simply the best and more realistic villain that show's ever had, imo.

Brandon also got good reviews for his short role in Zach and Miri, and got really great reviews for his role in Scott Pilgrim. He played evil, badass and hilarious at the same time. He was awesome.:yay:

im just now catching up in chuck......isnt it funny how that show has superman potentials and superman castings in it lol

Let's hope this is to be believed:

Why? Because if Hamm signs to play a Superman knockoff in Superior, he probably won't also be playing the real deal.

...making way for the real Superma -- I mean, Brandon Routh to continue on in the role.

Yeah, I can't take CBM seriously. I'll believe it if something like that is announced in Variety or a credible entertainment source similar to it.

Hamm isn't a concern.

The film is about Superman in his early days. No way Hamm can pull that off.
