Routh has so many points going for him (height, look, build, mannerisms, desire for the role, etc) that it would be a shame not to at least give him another casting shot.

Though from his perspective, it must be a bit of a bummer to have to audition for a role he has already played - probably feels a bit weird to him.

I agree that if he was in a new Superman movie, he would have to play the character differently to before - make it his own, rather than being a Christopher Reeve clone. In fairness though, I blame Bryan Singer for that - by making SR a homage to the Donner films, he was always going to have a Superman that was similar to the CR one. Brandon Routh simply played the character as he was directed to.

The only thing I've found is the pic from the facebook page. It would be nice if this is true. That he'll at least be considered.
 
I just have a hard time believing it, because I visited the site and it looked like a grade C tabloid.
 
That's cool! I still don't think they would bring Routh though, considering the nature of the story. Also, "Recast" means exactly the opposite of what that article thinks it does.
 
I still think that Brandon Routh is still the most suitable candidate to play Superman, and WB should consider him again, and at least let him give a screen test , if they are impressed by his performance, then sign him.

Many people want him back.
 
if Routh doesn't get to play Superman again, I hope he gets cast to do a biopic of Christopher Reeve. That would certainly give us another look at Routh as Superman, probably in the Reeve costume, and would certainly be a fitting tribute to the man he replaced.

I'm sure he would love to do it and it would be the next best thing to playing Superman for Routh.

as it is, I really hope Routh continues. What a nice and humble guy.
 
Yeah, he's certainly my favorite for the role but things happen right. Things may change, or we could be pleasantly surprised by Snyder, I hope for the latter.

Yes, I'm all for Brandon to return to the cape, but I doubt it will happen, sadly.. this is WB after all.... that said, I'd at least would love to see him in a nice Superman suit for halloween or something.:csad: Would really like to see how he looks in it now that he looks more supermanly than ever. sigh..:whatever:

Yeah, I read that News of the World article today. It IS a tabloid newspaper, and has posted its fair share of dubious, unreliable rumors, but since they're actually quoting Snyder from an interview they had with him, I'd say we can accept as fact that Snyder did indeed say it. So at least he's acknowledging the support for Brandon Routh.

I think it is fake because if you do that for one then you have to do it for all meaning Welling, Hamm, Cavil, Boomer, etc if they wanted to role as well.

no what? you do realize they do not care who "you" want right? they will cast who they feel will bring in the most cash. both brandon & tom have played clark on the screen and i think the general audience would feel more comfy with them in the long run.

He hasn't been in the running or associated with the Superman film projects and the Features division for 7 years.

He has absolutely nothing to do with this.


Brandon played Superman in their previous film, that's why all these questions to Snyder concerning Routh's involvement are gravitating to Routh only.

BR is a different situation compared to the guy from the CW drama. IF Brandon does get a shot, it by no means equates to the other guy requiring a shot as well.
 
The law has been handed down it seems.

So yeah, Brandon it my choice as well. It's pretty obvious from my past entries that I've had nothing but support for him. I think with the right director and script he could be the new face of Superman, permanently. I would like to remain optimistic about him in the role because I think he did a good job with what he was given before, he has shown growth from his other roles and with Zack he could maybe be great.

you know that scene in Chuck when Shaw finds out Sara killed his wife? The part when he screams no......i got chills. Im a big BR fan, but even i didnt think he could show emotion like that.......i need him back!

I'm not expecting anything or holding my breath for Routh to be brought back, but it's good to see that he he is at least still being considered. I'd be overjoyed if he was given a chance to reprise the role.
