And I totally disagree with everything you said. IMO, Superman Returns has a lot of heart, it's a damn good film, and that's in big part due to Brandon's performance as Supes/Clark. And he carries that film. The film and Brandon got lots of good/great reviews when it came out, you know?

I've seen him in almost everything he's done and to me he's a really good actor with a potential to become a great one.

SR was not what we were expecting and that is one of the reasons it wasn't received very well. While Brandon was one of the best things from the movie, his character was poorly written. For a movie in which he played the title character, he was given very few lines of dialogue. So, with that said, he played the character as written and still manage to demonstrate the qualities that make him an idea actor for the role. Imagine what he will do with the character as written by Nolan and Co. That is why I really want him for this. He will own Superman the way Reeve did once beyond a time.

i too believe he was betrayed by a poorly written character and if given the chance again he can make it shine like we know he can. In Man of Steel i think he will show us the Superman we have been waiting for.

I believe Brandon should be Superman again.

He looks the part more than any of the other candidates.
He has matured both as an individual, facially, body wise and as an actor.
SR wasn't his fault.

Brandon Routh was chosen after 20 years of developmental hell. That means something.

<V>

yeah, what happen to his new movie, dylan dog??? straight into DVD?

Yikes. I wish I saw the world the way you do, life would be so much easier.

It's called having a different opinion/different taste. Not everybody likes the same. And welcome to the hype... for whatever long you last..

This thread needs more posts. I mean, Routh is obviously the best choice for Superman. Even Snyder and Nolan are allowing him to audition and, if they're smart, will give him the role.

he got an audition?

Apparently Snyder was floored by Routh's internet support, and why not?

Better shape than ever, pretty much the established Superman in the public's mind. Seems like recasting a new young guy is going to be confusing to a lot of ppl.

cool pic there. but i thought his fanbase is relatively... not big.

You'd be surprised.

When I told my non-geek fans about the new movie in 2012, all of them asked me if Routh was coming back. When I told them he probably won't be coming back, their reaction was unanimously "...that sucks...he's Superman.*shrugs*".

I'm glad Snyder will be giving him an audition, if the stories are to be believed.

So he's actually getting an audition, that's not just a rumor?

If Snyder put Routh through the 300 training, he'd probably be bigger than Hemsworth.

If this really IS a re-boot, I'm not sure what would be more confusing: bringing Routh back or getting someone else.

^ so snyder says he has been thinking of casting routh lol

this rumor only came from some new paper article

Snyder has'nt even fully come on board yet since he is still promoting his owl movie

That tabloid paper report is false.

The only legit rumors of Routh still being in the mix involve AICN AND Clint at Moviehole claiming their studio sources have Brandon still under consideration by the Warners, and Thomas Tull from Legendary recently got Routh a trainer to get him into Superman shape.

What is with the last page of posts...it's like there's been some weird month delay for you guys.

"It's a reboot! He'll never be considered!" "Snyder will never consider him!" "He said he will!" "Will not!" "Will so! He said it in the paper!" "That paper is a tabloid." "Your mom's a tabloid!"

Just flip back a few pages and relive history that way. If you don't, it's just murder to those of us around here or are on top of the situation, day by day.

The rumor came from themovieblog.com months ago.

I wouldn't even call it a rumor, it's nothing. This may have came from themovieblog.com too:

The tabloid is just a tabloid, there's no factual basis to the article.

The only rumors that may have some legitimacy regarding BR's return come from AICN and Clint @ Moviehole.

Man, I hope this anticipation for the announcement of the casting of Superman isn't as bad as it was when fans were waiting to see if SR would get a sequel (and we all know on how that turned out).

I just hope that BR still gets it and that he fits the vision that Snyder/Nolan have in mind for their interpretation of Superman.

I still say that he's the most safest choice to go for the Superman role.

He greatly resembles on what a lot of ppl envision the character to look like, he's got a great personality in real life and a great enough respect for the character, and despite what some say, I believe that his acting skills when it came to Superman were great, especially given the limited amount of character development his character had in SR.

Does anyone know on when we should be expecting to hear anything about a choice being made as to who would play the character?

Were forgetting the fact that the paper quoted Snyder, if they have quoted him then I'm pretty sure he said it. As a football fan (soccer) they're always printing BS n that but when there's a quote its always true, the papers can't quote someone if they haven't said it.

the papers can't quote someone if they haven't said it.

You really think that? Papers and mags are printing quotes that people claim they didn't make all the time...and after they check the tape (or find out they didn't tape the interview) they find out that isn't what they actually said after all.
