Major announcements for these films are usually made through the trades (Variety & Hollywood Reporter) or through press releases straight from the studio. Casting announcements for the rest of the cast is what we'll be hearing from now until they start filming in December. Maybe the film's title (if they've settled on one before principle photography starts).

We know that they've been screen testing actresses opposite Garfield for the love interest (Gwen Stacy?) over the last couple of weeks. I would imagine the next bit of major news we hear is which actress has been chosen. That or a casting announcement for the villain. Though I wouldn't be surprised if they kept the identity of the villain under wraps, when they announce who they've cast (like they did with Church and Grace in Spider-Man 3).

I wouldn't mind them have characters like Silvermane, Silver Sable, Hammerhead, and Tombstone heavily involved in this franchise working with Norman Osborn behind the scenes and creating villains,etc.

I like. Then it comes to Osborn taking care of business himself via The Green Goblin.

Haha, I never get excited about "info is coming...sometime!" announcements, but what did interest me in that article is that Webb directed the Lone Star pilot, which is news to me, and I've heard positive things about that pilot. I don't think that show has a "romantic comedy" tone like 500 DoS, so I'll be checking that out now out of curiosity.

That's what they said about 2008 and that gaves us The Dark Knight, Ironman and The Hulk. So I am not complaining.

2008 doesn't compare to what 2012 is offering.
