Superman Returns Mark Millar's thoughts on the movie . . .

Seriously. The designers arent fools, theyve tried several, several versions and designs of the costume (most prolly based off the traditional form) before coming to this. There were so many factors (especially the action/cg sequences) to consider.....you just have to have some faith (since alot of us dont know all the stuff that went into the designing process and the factors necessary) and check it out in the context of the entire film.

This guy wants everything that's wrong with comic-based flicks these days. Non-stop action does not a good movie make.

Neither does making a remake of a 30 year old movie in sequel form

Spidey 1 was had Spider-Man every 8 minutes? I thought it took im at least 25 minutes into it for Uncle Ben to get killed and in S2 he's in there from the start.

Dude's gonna hhave a hissy fit if Supes doesn't hit somebody? WTF?

No offense to those who like his work, but something was wrong with him when he wrote that.

Since when is SR a remake? I don't remeber Lois being with someone else or Supes leaving Earth for 6 yrs. in S:TM. And the movie is 28 yrs. old, not 30. :p

SR is not a remake. It is similar in tone with STM and it might have a same order of scenes. Space/Smallville/Rescue/Flight Date/Lex`s Plan/Ending but thats all. It might feel like a remake because it is introducing Superman to a new audience.

As with a lot of things, that remains to be seen.

I saw the trailer of Superman during the movie Poseidon. IMO, I do think this movie will do well in the box office b/c the acting is very bad and the poor acting skills of some of the cast just stood out too much. However, I will admit that I only saw the preview of the movie but, what I saw will not influence me enough to take an interest in the movie and go see it.

Not in some peoples eyes who already made up their minds about the entire film without watching an entire completly finished scene from the movie.

Not saying that no ones not allowed to have a down opinion or not like what they have seen. But it's pretty damn silly to me to have any real opinion off of 4 minutes of spliced miscellaneous footage and script reviews of old scripts. Oh, and still pictures, cant forget those. And various rumors that have been around before any footage was shot. And a boatload of conjecture and projection from the peanut gallery.

But your right, Scruloos. ALOT remains to be seen. Like the actual film itself, by people.

Ah! I kind of figured, but I thought I'd ask before ass-u-me ing. Too funny.

I commented on this clown in the SV thread - basically, he wants more action, less story, and Superman doing more "cool stuff". Great, I'm first in line for McG's Superman.........what a joke. This guy just needs to shut his bi-polar mouth...

Come on,just because he doesn't think this is the way to go doesn't make his points any less valid

Wheeellll... he did post his thoughts on his own msg board, so he's pretty much free to say whatever he wants. It's not like he was quoted in the NY Times or something LOL. Beisdes, it's really only the hard core comic fans who will see his comments, and arguably, those folks have already taken a stand one way or another with the pic.

Not any less valid, just ignorant is all, which is worse.

Sure he can say what he wants. It's people like him that always make me wonder how they get their jobs..............

How are they ignorant,i can see what he means about lack of wow moment and not wanting to see Superdad

Because he hasn't seen the film or ANY of the action scenes within the film yet, that's why.

It's not 100% confirmed as to whether or not the kid is Supes. Just pure speculation at this point.

BTW, love the Avatar:up:

And ? he gave his feelings on the trailer which made him worried about the movie not the movie itself,ya know the way ppl on here go "The trailer owned, this movie is gonna rock the action is gonna be awesome spacey's Lex is the best ever"

The "wait and see the movie" line is the new "wait for the trailer" seems it's ok to claim greatness but not feel the movie is looking poor

He lacked professionalism, and basically reminded me of Sandy "Sour Grapes" Collora with is comments. It's not what he said about SR that bothered me, it was his thoughts on what would make a good Superman film - he sounded like a 6 year old wanting Superman to do "cool stuff" and have the story take a back seat. I found in funny is all..........

If he'd gushed about it and said that this was exactly what a superman film should be and looked amazing would you feel the same ?

The only line i thought was stupid was the one where he said "Superman isn't about his relationship with Lois Lane and their kid. It's about Superman doing 'cool ****'"

Minus the kid part but that doesn't mean i think Singer went the right route either

I probably wouldn't have commented on it at all if he gushed about the trailer. In my opinion, WB and Singer did the right thing with the "Return" story because of SV and the connection people still have with the Donner film. As I've said before, what I think Singer might mess up on is the kid of course and Kittly Koslowski.
