Just making an observation here: Dornan is 40 years old, which would leave him outside of the 20s/30s window (if you believe that rumor). In all fairness though, he is a good actor despite his association with the 50 Shades movies.

That's an interesting idea, I hadn't even considered that they would tailor the Thing's appearance to the actor's face. The Thing's face seems less flexible than the Hulk's. I think the She-Hulk actor looks a little odd hulked out. He's also got the facial structure that will go a long way with the mocap. Similar to how Ruffalos features worked so well as hulk.
Plemons has that affable sadboi energy that would be really awesome for Ben imo.
I’m sorry, but I have to dissent with the Plemons love.
Inside, Ben is sad and self-conscious and insecure.
But he hides that side of himself. We only know about it because of the thought-bubbles we were treated to in the comics.
The side of himself he shows to the world is a loud, extroverted smart-ass who calls himself the “Idol of Millions” and is constantly breaking balls.
I just don’t see Plemons as that loud ball-breaker.
When he calls himself “bashful Benjy” it’s facetious because from what the world sees, he doesn’t seem bashful at all.
Ben’s personality fits his physical form. He’s strong and hard on the outside but his softness is hidden behind his rocky exterior.
Agree to disagree I suppose. Plemons is super talented and I have no doubt he could pull off a nuanced performance.
to be fair, 20s/30s in a casting call usually refers to visual passibility of looking like that age range... like when they cast 20 somethings to play teenagersJust making an observation here: Dornan is 40 years old, which would leave him outside of the 20s/30s window (if you believe that rumor).
Yeah, I’m always willing to keep an open mind.
I mean, I remember when everybody hated the idea of Michael Keaton as Batman.
But when it comes to fancasting, I’d rather go with someone who I know can do the character based on similar roles in the past.
I’ve never seen Plemons do anything like Ben, so while I won’t absolutely say ‘no’, in the absence of a screen test, I’d rather have someone who has played a similar role for my wishlist.

He's going to be in my Superman fan cast list as well. He's versatile.
Plemmons has a big variety, where I have him senn.
btw I sometimes mistake him for Will Poulter in movies
- Silent psycho in BB and Game Night
- Nice Average Joe in The Power of the Dog
- Extrovert annoying villain in Jungle Cruise
^in the since that he looks like someone try to draw a picture of Matt Damon from memory... sure
It's only two villains. Certainly a 2 hour movie can handle that.
And we've seen other films handle 3 villains with ease -- it's just Spider-Man 3 had a weak script and a director who was pressured into moving the story in certain studio-mandated directions.
I know it has some flaws as a movie, but I still liked Spider-Man 3. There was a lot of good stuff going on in there, like Sandman's origin, and the resolution of the Harry storyline. I even thought emo Peter Parker was pretty funny, and people hated that.Spider-man 3 having three villains could have been okay, but it had three villains whose storylines were almost completely unrelated to each other except by happenstance. *That* is what killed it on a story level.

Lol, I don't think they would dare.If they revisit this (and make Tom Holland a dancing mascara wearing egotistical emo kid) it could actually turn out good
