Marvel Legends, Selects, Universe- Thread - Part 2

legends lines are all inclusive, Movie, 616, Ultimate, and even other universes (like wave 2's future figs having Mayday Parker Spider-girl, and spider-man 2099. It's all things spidey (same with all other legends lines.) Ultimate Beetle is also in the Ultimate Goblin wave.

I would have waited for superior.. he and amazing spidey should be going on clearance here soon they're peg warmers.

I remember when legends were $7.99 and came with bases, comics, and accessories on top of the figure... those were the days.......

it's just the price in oil going up that's doing it all, and Hasbro is aware, that's why more and more infinite wave figures are coming with more heads and hand swaps, as well as either bigger BAF pieces or accessories.

Well that wasn't EXACTLY the case when they bumped the Scarjo Widow for Loki in the Avengers set.
Their excuse was that was "boys don't buy Girl action figures." Same issue with the First Thor set. Finding a Lady Sif was and still IS a pain in the Butt.
I agree tho. I loved they included both Avengers and Winter soldier heads for Widow.

the cost to find the danged things because they're so limited for one. lol
Yeah I see what you're saying about the Extras and so on years ago. The detail's have suffered as well on ALL sizes. It's more than just costs of oil if you ask me.
I'm just saying in some cases like Sif, there was no reason more couldn't have been made instead the damned "concept" figures and so on.
If it's a MOVIE related set, then STICK to what's IN the movie the set is FOR

I dunno, i hang around fwoosh alot, and it's pretty unanimus. Cost in oil is what offset the cost in plastic. (takes oil to make plastic) oil goes up, so does cost in plastic. So does all things plastic (and they did).

The "details" as in sculpting and paint apps though (if that's what you mean, lol vartha sometimes i think you're on another page than what we're discussing haha ) have never been better. The new Storm, Emma, Black Cat, Medusa (for the women) aresome of the best female figures i've ever encountered. the Medusa/Storm body is SO expressive. It's just really fantastic.

But yea... you seem to be blending 2 topics.. We were discussing simply Price of what you pay for. Not "how hard it is to find female figures".

But since you opened that topic

Females are short packed because they often don't actually sell all that well.. Hope Summers, and Slave Leia are currently horrid peg warmers.. That's why Black Widow was short packed. When you short pack a figure... they typically sell out.

I do however think there's a correlation between "quality" of female figures, and there level of obscurity. I do think A list females Storm/Emma Frost/Jean Grey/Scarlet Witch/Black Cat would not peg warmer (if packed at least 2 to a case) if they have an attractive sculpt. (that's why slave leia imo didn't sell well, she's not an attractive figure) But the Hope Summers, Hellcats, Dani Moonstars, etc.. yes.. should probably be all short packed not matter the quality.

Yeah that Slave Leia is hideous. She's a fan boy dream figure. She shoulda been awesome. But she's so ugly. That's why she's not on my shelf. Hot females will sell.
