Marvel November Solicitations

*shakes fist at Dread*

Don't ruin my "Yay, Nate is back" high!

I'm stuck in the nineties. :(

You should give Ultimate Avengers a try Dread, i was pleasantly surprised with the first issue, its short but sweet, the new Ultimate Spiderman wasnt bad either. If marvel gets their act together, the Ultimate universe could have a second life I think.

Unlikely. I lost interest in USM because Bendis had everyone know Spidey's identity and wrote him as a hapless, helpless, emasculated heroine rather than a superhero. That, and his stories got cyclical and stupid. The rest of Ultimate just wore thin.

I am curious how Millar would write ULTIMATES like material with Bush out of office and therefore less of a need to write anti-American propaganda stories (let's simply say Fidel Castro would have considered some issues of Ultimates 2, "too pink"). Just not curious enough to read ULTIMATE AVENGERS. :p

I am reading more than enough 616 titles that I genuinely enjoy that I don't have to tip my toe into a floundering imprint that's merely at the start of it's death throws.

Someone had to be. ;)

Of course, so says someone like me who kinda/sorta liked Darkhawk. Granted, he, again, was handled differently. Abnett & Lanning virtually retconned his entire origin and countless 90's issues. It wasn't simply, "DH same as he was in 1992, doing the same stories, go." There was a new angle, that even took a risk. Not everyone was pleased. Granted, his mini didn't sell so hot, and he'll mostly be in NOVA. But that's not such a bad place to be.

X-Man, though....he was always rather flat personality wise, wasn't he? I recall people in 2000-2001 even noting that.

I never read comics in the nineties. This will be my first experience, than. :p

You missed a lot of foil and hologram covers, shoulder-pads, spikes, giant guns, "grim n' gritty", anti-heroes, "attitude", X-Treme-ism, overly muscular designs and over militarized designs. And nearly every team wore jackets over spandex. X-Men, Avengers, Fan Four, Smurfs. Any team.

Great times. ;)

Even if many of us came from that era.

I didn't think he was flat, but I'm sure others might have thought so. His story with Threnody, Sinister, Maddy Prior, as well as his 'relationship' with Jean, Scott, and Cable are what made me love his book.

I actually hope he reunites with Scott to see just where his 'father' has changed since he has been gone.

There is much of the 90's I don't miss, in fact the nineties as a whole are why I quit reading comics for a long time, but X-Man was one of the characters I loved from that era, since Age of Apocolypse down to his last issue, so I cannot wait to see him again and I really hope he becomes a major player in the universe again.

Hey now, it wasn't all that bad. There was some really good stuff under all that pile of garbage

I was just thinking the same thing the other day. Ultimate Avengers was great, and the new USM was surprisingly good too (I think the art may grow on me).

For the last two years, the Ultimate universe has been treading water (and that's putting it kindly), but now it actually feels fun again.

Like Hitman!

Amen dude, i think as long as bendis does Ult. Spiderman and Millar does Ult. Avengers, the Ultimate line will continue on. All they need is some other good writers like Warren Ellis, Brubaker, Fraction...etc to start jumping on and they could revitalize the Ultimate U. My one BIG worry is Loeb's Ultimates vol.4, i hope by some miracle that it got canceled. lol

That Avengers uniform was the bomb (read: garbage)

And wait, did I read right? X-Man is back?

Hey, don't knock that Avengers period. Yes, the "team jackets" were a bit stupid, but there were some solid stories in there. And no, I'm not biased because they centered on the Black Knight. :o

I didn't say it was the worst time for Avengers.

I sorta liked the Bio-Clone Masque (I'm sorta pissed that they got Madame Masque making kissy face with the Hood, when Tony'd probably take her back if she reformed like her clone. :o ), and some of the other stories.

However, you're biased.

P.S. NAZIS!!! :cmad:

Unfortunately it's still going, I just saw some art for it at CBR the other day. Although apparently Cho just recently finished the first issue. Took nearly a year to draw one issue...that has to be a record. :funny:

Yeah well...supposedly Captain America: White was done too and now where is it? lol

I guarantee that he'll have some gadget that hurts Nate immensely. "Gadgets" are getting my nerves lately.

Tell me about it. "Miss Hand, would you please give me my specially designed device that will render arguably the most powerful mutant who ever lived catatonic in one shot?"

I'll never complain about Reed and his ultimate nullifier-type appliances again.

If Stark couldn't develop something that specific, I doubt someone not as capable of him could do it.

Though...Stark DID have anti-psychic technology.

Yeah.....gadgets

I can't wait till magic comes back in style and takes technology down a notch.

Forge is basically magic. He has a mutant ability to come up with the anything gadget. How do you think Storm's powers were taken back in the 80's?
