and yet your view is WAY too serious as i said, been a spidey fan for 20 years.. and as long as the suit looks like this

I'll be happy... if the webbing is styled more organic.. or the spider changes.. or the lenses barely change.. it's not a big deal. just small details that I wont superficially judge.

as for the black suit.. it's pretty much been done before... several shots of the Raimi suit have such dark blue that they really do appear red/black

lets just hope we never see the Raimi eyes again

Funnily enough, that's one my least favorite Marvel Legends Spidey figures design-wise. I just don't care for the design of that figure at all.

And I LOVED the Raimi lenses.

Im expecting muted colors if the Russos are making Spidey grounded and realistic. Although maybe they just mean Peters world while his suit is still flashy.
Exactly. Just look at the Russos' track record with costumes, and you'll understand why their version of Spidey would have darker colors.

and ironically (Well it's you, so not so ironic) that figures is literally the most praised spider-man figure.. it's even what the new Marvel Select one is some what based on... you beat to your own drum, i'll give you props to that.

the raimi lenses were god awful triangular slits.. that looking back now.. barely look like anything spider-man has ever had... that costume way too streamlined for film it's almost as bad as the Amazing 1 suit.

Oh come on it's not that bad, the Raimi suit was great for the time.

I actually still really like the Raimi suit. I want something even closer to the comics for the MCU Spider-Man, but it'll always have a special place in my heart.

I'm pretty sure the "Best Marvel Legends Spidey figure ever" title goes to the Mcfarlane one.

And the Raimi lenses and suit was and still is, gorgeous. I loved how Tobey could emote through the mask, and the lenses seemingly changing expression based on the angle and lighting. The costume is also really nostalgic for me considering that I grew up with the Raimi films, and that was the image of Spidey for me back then.

Agreed. Just look at how gorgeous it is:

I didn't care for the Rami eyes because I don't like the sharp corners. I preferred the more rounded lenses, like ASM2.

It's funny you complain about ASM2 eyes and big bug eyes, Harry, but you are a proponent of the Bagley Ultimate eyes.

I know I said I want Romita eyes, but that also goes for Romita Jr's eyes as well, which are on the large size. I would be happy with large eyes like ASM2, but I agree with Harry that the black rims need to be thicker. And that thickness should not be uniform either. It should be similar to Romita Sr./Romita Jr.

The Disneyland Spider-Man is the TASM 2 suit with a smaller spider emblem and a little bit thicker rims.

^key words right there...

I want my comic book films to look comic booky.. not edgy. I loved the (first 2) raimi films at the time.. but other than the sentimentality of High School (age i was when the films came out) im over it and ready to move on to a spider-man that feels much more like the books.

technically that was a "spider-man classics" figure and not a "Legends" one... it was great for pose-ability.. but the figure was gangly as all hell and doesn't hold up anymore. It also was incorrectly called "mcfarlane" spidey by collectors.. it was really based on J. Campbell Scott’s art

you were just complaining about Amazing 2's raised webbing.... the raised webbing on the raimi suit was far more intrucive to the design..

Harry's basically like a politician.. he can say he hates something all he wants but then praise something different for having the same thing the thing he hates has...

Know what, that statement for some reason made me laugh. It kinda makes sense but at the same time is kinda of a mean joke (then again, most jokes are mean so...)

The last couple of pics is perfect looking Spidey to me. The raised webbing gives it a nice extra spidery aesthetic too. Its not just lines drawn on fabric.

Well the raised webbing is something that we could be expecting from the new costume.
Either that or some sort of patern or layers in the suit.

No, it does NOT! TASM2 garbage lenses are NOT the Bagley lenses! :wall: they are completely different shapes and design, literally the ONLY similarity is the fact that they're both large-scale. People have been saying this since the first pic of Amazing 2 was released, and I couldn't and still can't understand what they are talking about. Jeez, somebody needs to draw both designs side-by-side.

It's still great now. Best Spidey movie suits easily.

They draw influence from and highly resemble the Bagley lenses. Just because they aren't exactly like it does not make it garbage.

It fit really well for the time. Great suit imo. Younguys cant say you didnt enjoy it in action when you were watching the original films as a kid.

By the way, I zoomed into the hoodie the other day and could make out mandibles on the spider. That kinda adds a bit more credence to it being the Civil War suit, since it isn't just the comic book logo.

Umm.. Where was it stated that they drew influence from Bagley?

Anyways' can we pls move away from that fugly Amazing 2 thing and onto MCU Spidey? thank you. What do you guys think Spidey's sense of humor will be like? I'm hoping that Marvel brings Brian Micheal Bendis on board as a consultant for Spidey's quips.

to be fair, that's 1 of many bagley drawings.. he drew multiple styles of both 616 and ultimate spidey... the lenses are very clearly bagley inspired.

It's obvious. The eyes most resemble the ones in Bagley's run as an artist, and Marc, time and time again, cited Bagley as a visual source for Spider-Man's physicality and iconography.

Also I find it interesting that you seemingly have no issue with the Raimi lenses, which don't really seem to take inspiration from any popular artistic interpretation of Spider-Man's eyes, but hate on the Webb lenses, which definitely do. I myself like both lenses, for the record.

Bendi's needs to stay the hell away from this film.. just like he needs to stay the hell away from the comics...

if you want a spidey expert for advice... go to Dan Slott

if i had to guess.. he hates AMZ2.. and is mostly taking out his hatred on the suit for some reason...

This is the last time i'm adressing TASM2 suit

No, they don't look anything like Mark's art, I have USM vol 1 & 6 sitting right next to me, and no they don't. At all.

Yeah, for The Amazing Spider-Man

Okay, I will admit, they do kinda resemble how Bagley drew them for 616, but definitely not Ultimate.
